Gov. Bush softening on elections proposals
Edited on Thu Feb-17-05 06:18 PM by ryban
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Facing a firestorm of criticism in the wake of an attempt to consolidate more elections supervisory powers under his authority, Gov. Jeb Bush signaled a willingness to compromise Thursday.

Some of the state's 67 elections supervisors said Bush broke faith with them when the secretary of state's office - an agency of the governor's office - disclosed its recommendations for changes in the state's elections laws in a late afternoon conference call Wednesday.

"This whole process comes at the 11th hour out of the blue, completely contradicting what the Division of Elections has been telling the supervisors of elections for the last two years," veteran Leon County elections chief Ion Sancho said Thursday. "It's clear the considerations to make this change are political and not legal ones."

Longtime Okaloosa County Elections Supervisor Pat Hollarn said Thursday she was "dismayed" by the proposal.

2. Let's hope he stays away from national politics.
Or at least his crack-whore daughter helps to keep him out of national politics.

If your grandfather went on national television and said you and your siblings were "the little brown ones"?

5. That And His Catholicism
I have no problem with rank-and-file Catholics but since the right loved to question Kerry's ability to govern since he was a Cathoic, it's only fitting that the do the same to the First Bro'.

6. To late, what do think the tsunami trip he made was about..............
I think they are grooming him for national politics, why else would he make the trip?

Sure they use the excuse that we just went through four hurricanes. So what, that makes him an expert, yeah right!

Just a good opportunity to get face time on an international level.

I can run down a list of worse disasters that have been handled by real experts like the International Federation of Red Cross.

11. what's not funny is the fact that i have to share a state
with sociopathic bush-spawn-trash.

i think Jebbles son has a restraining order against him from his first girlfriend, so Jebbles is carrying quite a lot of political liability to be supposedly running in '08.

12. On top of everything, Jeb sounds like a good father.
I'm just surprised the ex-girlfriend didn't turn up in the stomachs of several alligators.

13. hah! anyone that would date a bush would probably make an alligator
sick.

i met Jebbles a couple of times in the mid-90's, and he didn't seem like a beady eyed sociopath at the time, but apparently he's better at hiding it then dubya. Jebbles is into the PNAC, Codina, St. Joe/Arvida, all sorts of nefarious things.

i've heard from a reliable source that he is also quite a boozer. it must be the curse of the governor or something, cuz they had to drag rotten Lawton off to the panhandle to dry out a couple of times during his last term.

14. I thought PNAC was a philanthropic organization.
Don't they help needy oil companies and weapons manufacturers meet their quarterly numbers by invading small foreign countries?

And aren't the really bad sociopath types the ones who can hide it best? If he would get elected, who knows what kind of crazy shit we'd get into.

10. Unbelievable that he's trying to do this.
I don't get it. How do they get away with so much? How do they try their hardest to turn this into a fascist nation and don't get called out by the media? :puke:
