Bearish Sentiment Up In The Latest AAII Poll

DOW JONES NEWSWIRES
February 18, 2005 3:05 p.m.

NEW YORK -- Bearish sentiment among investors was up during the week ended Wednesday, according to the most recent weekly online survey of members of the American Association of Individual Investors.

Bullish sentiment fell to 36.36% from 43.75%, but bearish sentiment rose to 29.87% from 22.92% during the previous week.

The percentage of investors who described themselves as neutral on the stock market rose to 33.77% from 33.33%, according to the poll .

1. Usually the AAII poll "predicts" whatever happened last week...
but the market (at least the Dow, I haven't been following much recently) has generally trended up the last month. Might be an interesting phenomenon this time.

Many investors have reality-based mindsets, although that didn't prevent all too many of them from voting to install Gee Dubya again in the White House.

I see what this administration and its Banana Republican supporters are doing to this country's economy and it scares me.

3. Same here. And more are all the young people who do not realize
how bad this administration is and voted for him.

Earlier this evening on Lou Dobbs was a report about how there are fewer and fewer jobs for high-school graduates, what used to be factory jobs that did not require college degree.

But as I was watching it I thought that it's not as if there are plenty good jobs for college grads either.
