Bush Outlines Goals for European Trip

"America and Europe are the pillars of the free world," Bush said in his weekly radio address Saturday, the day before he leaves on a five-day trip to Belgium, Germany and Slovakia.

"Leaders on both sides of the Atlantic understand that the hopes for peace in the world depend on the continued unity of free nations," he said. "We do not accept a false caricature that divides the Western world between an idealistic United States and a cynical Europe."

Iraq (news - web sites) will be a top agenda item during the president's talks with European leaders and officials of NATO (news - web sites), the European Union (news - web sites) and the European Commission (news - web sites). The United States wants to see a larger international role in Iraq, particularly in training its military and police.

U.S. hopes for a larger NATO role suffered a setback last Sunday when Germany rebuffed the alliance's request for help to protect U.N. operations in Iraq. France and Germany, which opposed the U.S.-led war that toppled Saddam Hussein (news - web sites), have prevented the alliance from developing a wider role in Iraq, and have refused to send their own troops, even on the training mission in Baghdad that NATO has authorized.

... oh yeah, and avoid all of those nasty "focus group" protestors!

2. We already ARE doing more than we should. I don't think we should
be doing anything at all! Germany is training Iraqi police. We are just not doing it in Iraq but in the Emirates.
By the way: Those "policemen" are really bodyguards for Iraqi politicians. Interesting that the FIRST persons to be protected are politicians. For the protection of the people the West evidently has no money.

I'm getting angrier by the day, at the US and at the European governments, too. If Bush is "outlining goals" that means that the documents are already signed or he wouldn't be setting foot in Europe. "Working visit" my foot. So the Europeans ARE going to "contribute" more. That means helping a mass murderer in his crimes.

Friends, I am so without hope these days.

8. Wonder if he will be traveling with his "Man Date"
Bush* really does not have a clue. He will be met with massive protests because the world loathes and fears him. Clinton would have had millions come just to adore him. Bush* will be lucky not to get imprisoned for war atrocities.

9. Bush outlines goals for upcoming trip:
1) Make sure Bush is surrounded by a small army of security people. Don't just settle for 1,000. Make it 5,000. Image is important. Numbers of security personnel = important person. Make it look like the Coronation, if possible, with thousands of Secret Service people. Image is everything, you know.

2) Avoid any glimpses of protest marches. Avoid the riff-raff. Hurry up and get whisked away to secure compounds that are heavily armed.

3) Call the Queen. Tell her you're thrilled her oldest son, the future kind of England is having a civil ceremony at City Hall. Really rub it in. After all, the old Hag had the nerve to complain when your security people trampled her lawn & killed an ancient tree on her lawn.

4) Get ready to lie. Look yourself in the mirror. Start practicing now. Start to tell the lies, and make sure you look sincere, honest, God-like, and yet strong, powerful, Leader-like, all at the same time.

5) Bring checkbook, loaded to the max. Get ready to bribe, cajole, threaten, flagrantly wave money in their faces to get them to comply. After all, Russia is pissing you off Big-Time, and you want Old Europe on your side. Money talks, you know.

6) Bring plenty of medication. Don't forget Valium, as you have to stand there AGAIN, facing Chirac. He's so much taller than you, George, and it's so humiliating to look up at him. The old gentleman has 1,000 more charm and sex-appeal than you ever will. He's got class and you have none. It just hurts. Also, you hate to travel so bring some sleeping pills. It's awful to not have your own bed to sleep in. Your face always looks puffy and swollen when you travel. You get so bitchy, too.

7) Make sure your new, improved box on your back doesn't slip. After all the Brouhaha about the last one, you've had a new, slimmer model installed on your back. It's not noticeable now, but since it's so small, it might shift and end up on your chest & you would end up looking like a clown. More than usual, that is.
