Bush Says He Harbors No Bitterness Toward Chirac
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush says he has no bitterness toward French President Jacques Chirac after their tussle over Iraq, but he is taking issue with a Chirac notion that a united Europe would serve as a counterbalance to the United States.
...
"I don't feel bitter, personally," Bush said of Chirac, who was the chief Iraq war opponent in Europe. Bush and Chirac will have a working dinner in Brussels.

But he questioned the Chirac-advocated idea of the need for a "multipolar world," diplomatic code language for a united Europe balancing out the United States.

"Some have said, 'Well, we must have a unified Europe to balance America.' Why, when in fact we share values and goals?...Why don't we view this as a moment where we can move forward in a concerted fashion to achieve those goals?"

1. Shared goals? I hope not. An anti-fascist Europe is our last hope. NT

5. Yes it is. But European industry has been presuring our governments.
Trade with the US is VITAL.

By the way I'm sure Mr. Chirac is eternally grateful that the mass murderer harbours no grudge. :puke:

2. His government launched a propaganda campaign against France
I recall that a year or so ago, the French government formally complained to the US that Bush had launched a media/news campaign to ridicule France and impune France's actions.

8. Bush still doesn't get it - who the hell cares if he harbors no ill
will against Chirac? He thinks he is still in DC surround by toadies that whisper in his ear how "great" he is. The bigger question, and always has been, is how much ill will does the rest of the world still harbor against Bush and his cabal?

Mighty magnanimous of the King to "forgive" his "subjects" when he should be begging for their forgiveness. Anymore talk from this asswipe and we'll be in the middle of World War III. King Chimp is like a cow pattie - only the cow pattie has more personality and is smarter and Chimpy is more repugnant. God how I hate that dimwit, clueless, "moranic," shilling front for a party of assholes.

7. I live in liberal northern California
but I have seen at least a half dozen anti-French bumper stickers.

Maybe Bush should tell his paid consultant Rush Limbaugh to stop attacking the French on his radio show.

They's be calling him, Jaques Kerry, and the Massachusetts French Fry.

So c'mon Democratic Party. Let's get on the talk shows and hammer the Traitor and Terrorist Lover Bush.
