China reluctant to take major diplomatic risks on North Korea:
http://www.newkerala.com/news-daily/news/features.php?action=fullnews&id=74600

: New York, Feb 19 : China remains reluctant to take major diplomatic risks on North Korea convinced that its longtime ally will never turn against the communist nation, media reports today said.

Beijing's top priority is to maintain quiet on its frontier and it would take a more aggressive stance only if tensions between Washington and North Korea were to increase seriously, 'The New York Times' quoted analysts as saying.

An even more fundamental reason for the reluctance of China to take the lead in this crisis might be its deep-seated skepticism about the United States' strategic designs in the region, the Times said.

"If we cut off aid and the Koreas are unified on South Korean terms, that would be a big disaster for China," one analyst said.

1. It's all BULLSHIT!!!!

The Korean nukes are coming from China. They're playing Washington like a fiddle.

Here's how it works. They are robbing us Gui-Los blind with their slave labor. And the Gui-Los are starting to realize it. What would happen if the US started building trade barriers up???

Well, here's where North Korea comes in. China feeds North Korea nuclear material and then plays the "good guy" in talks. Ergo, if we erect China trade barriers, the Chinese will "walk out" of the talks and let the "crazy madman" loose.

This is a big fart in the wind. If China didn't want N Korea to make nukes, China would have shut them down a LONG time ago by obvious military superiority sitting on their border.

Let's put it this way ... There is little foreign policy that happens in Mexico without US approval. We've got our hooks in Mexican flesh and the Mexicans damn well know it. Similar situation over there. China could CRUSH the North Korean regime by flexing a finger. The very PRESCENSE of China is attributable to Chinese interference for a friendly buffer state.

This whole North Korea issue is a giant Charade. Even if it WAS a serious security risk, there is NOTHING we can do about it. It's analogous to attempting to disarm Pakistan.

...has on occasion cut off oil supplies to force it into submission. They don't seem interested in playing that card this time. But you can bet Bush and his minions have demanded for China to do just that behind closed doors.

And it is Bush who the North Koreans, the Chinese, and the Russians are playing like a fiddle. He is stupid as shit and they know it. He is an embarrassment to this country.

4. Why would China let a "hostile" North Korea have nukes ????

That would mean North Korea would no longer be an effective buffer/proxy state for China. If North Korea has nukes, it's because China GAVE them over to freak out the Americans!!!!

3. Well down people - The bloody obvious!!!!
Why would China stop a "Thorn in The Bush Gang's" foreign policy from becoming more and more "Septic".
The Chinese are taught that several thousand and thousand years ago, they had a "Culture" so superior to the Anglo-Saxon culture that it wasn't "funny". They are now "just re-establishing" that supremacy!!!
And they are!!!
Warning - Do not give the Chinese any "Intellectual Property" if you can possibly help it!!! You have "NO" protection under their laws!!!
China might be worth a "buck" to a Capitalist! but they will "Screw" you a year down the track!!! They are extremely clever! and they know what they want!! And that is your "naive" wish to become "Rich" at their expense!! Only happens if you are "cleverer" than them? But you can take that chance?
