Writer Hunter S. Thompson commits suicide
Sad, sad, sad. I always enjoyed his articles.

DENVER - Hunter S. Thompson, the hard-living writer who inserted himself into his accounts of America’s underbelly and popularized a first-person form of journalism in books such as “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas,” has committed suicide.

Thompson was found dead Sunday in his Aspen-area home of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, sheriff’s officials said. He was 67. Thompson’s wife, Anita, had gone out before the shooting and was not home at the time.

Besides the 1972 classic about Thompson’s visit to Las Vegas, he also wrote “Fear and Loathing: On the Campaign Trail ’72.” The central character in those wild, sprawling satires was “Dr. Thompson,” a snarling, drug- and alcohol-crazed observer and participant.

1. rage into the night, good doctor
you're bravery to explore the dark underbelly of Life, and the truths you were able to tell while standing in the very fires of the Big Bang itself will inspire generations to come. Your work is done now, old friend. Enjoy the time off.

3. Almost a year ago exactly in Vegas I made my wife go to CircusCircus
because I wanted to see the rotating bar. Well now it is a juice bar only open on weekends and surrounded by cheap state fair type games and CircusCircus is a complete dump but hey I went.

My brother first turned me onto Hunter Thompson.

I have to say that I am not surprised that his life ended this way-not about the guns just that he took his own life and used a gun to do it.

I raise a glass of orangejuice mescaline and jack daniels with lots of ice to the Doctor these damned lizards are everywhere.
