Queen will miss Charles' wedding
Wednesday, 23 February, 2005, 04:58 GMT

The Queen's decision to not attend the civil marriage ceremony of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles is not a snub, Buckingham Palace insists.

The Queen will attend the church blessing afterwards and is happy to host the reception, the palace said.

But she will not be a guest at the civil ceremony at the Guildhall in Windsor on 8 April.

A palace spokeswoman said the decision had been made because the royal couple "wanted to keep the occasion low key".

2. That's because

3. Sure....but that's only b/c it gives people something to 'talk about'
at the office that isn't "too controversial" (meaning 'not the stuff that really will affect all of our lives'.) This story just SEEMS like it makes a difference.

footnote though: to people who know history this actually IS very important.....too many people just 'sense' the finer points w/o really being able to debate/understand them....and onward/forward we all will go. *sigh*
