Family members of deployed reservists, guardsmen voice concerns (KC)

Lack of food, equipment and medical supplies. Delayed returns home. Inability to send and receive correspondence.

More than 100 friends and family members of deployed military personnel voiced these concerns Saturday.

Claps and tears broke out during the discussions by spouses and parents of reservists and National Guardsmen who went to VFW Post 2993 in Olathe to meet U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore, a Kansas Democrat.

The company's return date has been extended. Montgomery said family members set up a Web site, www.129bringthemhome.com, to get signatures from people who agree that reservists should not serve for more than a year.

1. See, this is the sh*t that makes me sick!

We have a friend whose son is over there, and they said he's hungry; that the soldiers have had so much trouble getting food. The Bushits have privatized so much in the military (Brown, Root & Kellog have to make thier profits) that the poor soldiers are eating MREs instead of hot food.

He told his Mom and Dad that they are suppose to get two hot meals a day, and in the past, they would have had military cooking for them. Now, with privitization, civilians are too afraid to brave enemy fire, they turn the convoys back.

Then we come to find out that they don't even have the kevalar jackets that they need to protect them. It's obscene!

What really pissed me off though was when John told us that his son said that one night, they were being shelled. In the morning they went out to find the culprits and rounded up about a dozen people thought to be responsible. They didn't have them in custody 24 hours when they were told to let them go! WTF!!!!
