Bush to Inspect Hurricane Damage in Va.
President Bush has chosen Virginia, a state where 17 deaths have been blamed on Hurricane Isabel and thousands of residents are still without power, to get a briefing on storm damage and recovery efforts.

Bush travels to Richmond on Monday to visit an emergency operations center at the Virginia State Police Academy and participate in a video conference with emergency management officials and governors from some of the most impacted states, White House press secretary Scott McClellan said Sunday in announcing the trip.

"The president looks forward to receiving an update on the hurricane and personally thanking workers and volunteers for the great job they did responding," he said.

Of the deaths reported in Virginia, six were in storm-related road accidents, five from falling tree limbs, three by drowning and three apparently from carbon monoxide poisoning from generators.

1. I wonder if he's going to make a speech promising
to track down Isabel to the training camps from which she was hewn and protect America from any more attacks.

2. He's just Johnny on the Spot
How many days ago was the hurricane? Guess he couldn't bother to take a break from his weekend to go outside and look around the neighborhood.

3. He's pretty safe in Richmond
It's a conservative place so he might escape the protests he would get if he showed his face in D.C.

4. When Does He Expect...
to inspect the war damage in Iraq. You'd think he would want to see what were going to pay a trillion for.

11. Wrong Place

He isn't even going to where the real damage happened. He should come here to southern Virginia where we still don't have power, have to boil our water, drive 30 mile and wait in line for 30-45 minutes for gas and food (if they have anything left).
Saturday we had Tom Ridge and our state officials here. The come into Langely Air Force Base and went to the cloest town(really just a part of the base) did a quicl photo-op in front of a damaged house and left.
