Unrepentant Bush to challenge UN anew (Goodness, does this man...
never learn?)

WASHINGTON (AFP) - President George W. Bush (news - web sites)'s speech to the United Nations (news - web sites) will be a "call to action" seeking money and troops for post-war Iraq (news - web sites), not a fence-mending exercise, the White House said.

1. How does one learn from one's mistakes when......
one is continually bailed out? Have to admit a mistake before you can learn from it, something Bush* never has and never will do.

2. The unbridled arrogance and conceit on display.
Edited on Mon Sep-22-03 11:34 AM by benfranklin1776
This is a seriously dysfunctional individual who can never admit error or mistake. He wants to imperiously snap his fingers and have the other nations genuflect and give him their young men and women and money so he can be reelected. Pathetic. As I recall he was reluctant to speak last time because he would not get a standing ovation. With that swaggering attitude, I hope he is booed off the podium but the other nations representatives are professional diplomats, so that will not happen, but his reception will not be a warm one.

4. No he can't
not only can he not learn, this Administration is so blinded by its own arrogance they can never ever admit that made a mistake. Saving face and keeping a pretence of infalibility is an obsession with them. Even though they are the spinningest and most manipulative admin in the history of the universe they seem to be trying to keep up a charade of "moral clarity" and "straight shooting" to the point of absurdity. I don't think even the Freepers are buying it any more but this bunch are so delusional they beleive their own Orwellian propaganda.

Going to the UN and claiming we were right and you Old Europe chocolate makers were wrong, when clearly the international community was right and Bush was oh so very wrong is not going to get a single additional dollar or foot soldier to bail out Bush's ill-concieved and reckless attempt at remaking the middle east.

10. Crazy
I think the UN and Kofi should tell * to go screw himself. But, sadly, the rest of the world has a soul and puts helping the Iraqi's above petty politcal differences. Damn, the Rove machine in action again. He knew that they could invade without any support and if they screwed it up, the UN would rescue them because it's the humanitarian thing to do.
