Tajikistan Elections Said Tainted by Fraud
February 28, 2005

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan -- Tajikistan's opposition parties Monday alleged systematic vote-rigging and other breaches during weekend parliamentary elections in the former Soviet republic, and a top poll-monitoring group said the ballot did not meet international standards.

"It was complete falsification," said the leader of the Islamic Renaissance Party, Muhiddin Kabiri.

He alleged that his party's election observers were barred from monitoring vote counting across the country, that many ballots were filled by election officials themselves and that turnout figures were inflated.

The Socialist Democratic Party and the Democratic Party, both of the opposition, also claimed numerous violations in Sunday's poll.

2. not quite "all over" though ...

Seems remarkably confined to the former Soviet republics that sit between Russia and the Iran/Iraq/Afghanistan region.

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, though ...

5. Wow, they have "elections" just like Amerika
And yes, Tajikistan is a BushPutinist State.

Those poor Tajik Liberals with their crazy ideas of have a vocie in their nation's running and getting there votes counted...

Did they think they lived in the ever-shrinking Free World. No, they lived in Tajokistan, which is a Thrid World Nation that;s not even as good as the best, richest, Third World Nation in the Totalitarian World, Imperial Amerika.
