Encouraging countries to initiate policies of inclusiveness and reducing the divide between wealthy and poor countries will help to alleviate terrorism in the long-term, Prime Minister Jean Chrétien told a roundtable on terrorism in New York on Monday.
Economic security is the key to reducing violent acts, Mr. Chrétien said, encouraging wealthy countries to share with less fortunate countries.
"We must also do more to expand opportunities and share prosperity — to reduce the growing disparity between rich and poor. Global security and stability today depend on greater equity.
