Moussaoui Seeks Access to Testimony

ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- Zacarias Moussaoui, the only person indicted in the United States as a Sept. 11 conspirator, wants access to statements by Hambali, one of Osama bin Laden's key Asian operatives.

Moussaoui contended in a motion filed last month -- and released Monday -- that Hambali, now a prisoner, could rebut key prosecution testimony.

Moussaoui said in a handwritten motion that Hambali's "knowledge of Zacarias Moussaoui Malaysian activity will destroy" testimony that Moussaoui dreamed of flying a plane into the White House.

U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema previously granted Moussaoui the right to question three key al-Qaida prisoners, but the government has defied her order and is awaiting imposition of penalties that could include dismissal of the case.

The witness access issue, however, will be fought out in a higher court -- possibly the Supreme Court.

OK, hash it all out in court, let this guy help make some more lawyers even richer at taxpayers' expense, get it all over with properly and legally as it should be done.
Then he should be publicly pulled apart by four tractors chained to his limbs. I'll be happy to drive one of the tractors.
