Issa urges "no" on recall
Edited on Tue Sep-23-03 03:44 PM by mw
Issa must've gotten a visit last night from the ghosts of patriots past, present, and future:

Tuesday, September 23, 2003 (SF Chronicle)
Issa, money man of recall, now tells voters to reject it/Risk of GOP vote being split prompts call to retain Davis
John Wildermuth, Chronicle Political Writer

The GOP congressman whose money put the recall on the ballot urged Republicans Monday to keep Democratic Gov. Gray Davis in office if neither Arnold Schwarzenegger nor Tom McClintock pulls out of the race by election day.

1. Maybe he thinks he'll get a refund on his money
if the recall fails.

11. He'll probably get sued
for the amount of money he's costing the state. I'm sure that whoever runs against him will use this to throw him out next election.

4. His precious GOP is more important than California's well-being
Didn't he start a movement that claimed California was being harmed by Davis' leadership?

Enough to annul his democratic election to office?

UNBELIEVABLE!

Well, we can see where his priorities are.

13. He owes the California taxpayers a refund...
Edited on Tue Sep-23-03 08:27 PM by stimbox
So this wingnut's actions have cost us California taxpayers how much dough? I read somewhere like $67 million dollars!!!!

I think we should sue his ass for the cost of the election.

I hope the people of Vista vote his sorry ass out of office next term and elect a Democrat.

edit: to add dollar amount.

14. And he's SOOOOOO influential now, isn't he
Another used kleenex, cast aside. Achoo, sez Karl. Well, a deserving one this time, at least.

So, isn't it interesting though--despite all that wonderful free publicity thanks to his celeb status, Arnie is still running behind. Wonder how closely that tracks with the glide-path Rove had in mind for this contrived election.

Gonna have to work them Diebold machines extra hard this fall, huh Karl? Start printing up them memory cards.

Anybody know if there's going to be exit polling in this election? I'm anticipating a "stunning" upset.
