Pentagon To Get $368 Billion Budget
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Big News Network.com Friday 26th September, 2003

The Pentagon has been given its $368 billion wish list from Congress to modernize and expand its fleet of aircraft, ships and weapons, a report said Thursday.

The measure passed in the House by a vote of 407 to 15 after seven minutes of debate. The Senate is expected to take up the legislation Thursday, the Washington Post said.

The $75 billion for new hardware, electronics and weapons platforms -- ranging from old-line tanks with updated sensors to a futuristic minisub capable of carrying commandos -- was included in a $368.2 billion Pentagon spending bill for the fiscal year that begins Wednesday.

The Cold War is over and Rummy and WhistleAss do not understand it. Also the Pentagon.

7. They are now using a couple of old nuclear missle Boomers
for this. In this day and age I could understand a small mini-sub for this type work.

Guns will make us powerful; butter will only make us fat.
— Hermann Goering
Obviously taking a lesson from the fascists of the past.

I really like this one better:
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
Dwight D. Eisenhower

10. $368 for the Pentagon, $500 billion deficit.
We are passing the entire defense budget for next year, plus another $130 billion, on for our children to pay.

Irresponsible, greedy bastard Republicans.
