State has long history of election blunders (NM)
snip
The trend continued, with every manner of error creeping up hours after polls closed.

Workers sent home early, ballot boxes locked with keys inside, mistakes programming voting machines, lost ballot boxes, all manner of challenges counting absentee ballots and even stolen voting machines.

snip
She (SOS)argues the media's push for quick results paint the false picture that state elections are rife with problems.

snip
Results were delayed for several days due to glitches that included not having enough personnel to count absentee and early-vote ballots, accidentally sending a voting-machine cartridge to Santa Fe and finding a box of 688 uncounted ballots in a county warehouse.

1. That 2000 election one was a corker.
Democrats voting a straight party ticket in the most populous county in the state didn't have their votes counted the first time.

Counting them turned us from a Red to a Blue state in the Presidential election.

The latest: looks like Richardson got his Secretary of Education, Cabinet level, appointed by him, must be professional educator, approved by the Senate...The other proposition where we use part of the interest from the state's fund-in-trust for going directly into the classroom education and teacher salaries: 23 votes apart

who knows. The repugs put out all sorts of scare information, like we were going to dip into the principal of the fund, and we were going to spend all the interest that had been accumulating for years..they showed themselves for the selfish people they are.IMHO, of course.
