Putin uses hard-ball tactics to win Bush endorsement for Russia

<snip>
And if by that time president Bush (news - web sites) and I had not formed an appropriate relationship -- as we have -- no one knows what turn of events the developments in Afghanistan would have taken," Putin said with a wry grin.

Analysts widely interpreted those comments as a veiled threat against the US administration, delivered at a time when everyone was expecting Putin to only redouble his efforts to confirm his alliance with Washington.

A US official hinted broadly Monday that Bush was stunned by Putin's remarks.

"This was something new to me, and I think even the president (Bush) has said that this is something that was new to him," said Moscow's US ambassador Alexander Vershbow in reference to Putin's comments on Afghanistan.

But Putin did not stop there....
<snip>
I still think Dubya must have really pissed him off by calling him Pooty-Poot. Seriously, though, There's a lot of posturing going on here. I just wonder for what.

3. Hold it he said this BEFORE W's vacuum statement?
W didn't realize what he had just said huh?

Oh brother. This clown can get threatened to his face and he doesn't even notice it. Yeah he's tough all right.

Putin also hinted that there may need to be some concessions made to him if W wants the oil and gas to continue to flow into the US from Russia. Oh great, now this came W getting REALLY played and us along with him.

Putin's message here is :Nothing in life is certain, don't take anything for granted

:scared:

4. Hmm, first the Democrats start calling Bush's bluff,
and now the rest of the world is doing so, as well. Obviously, the world has told him to kiss their collective rears before, but this is the closest thing I've seen to a threat since 9/11 happened.

And what kind of idiot has to create nicknames for people to remember them, anyway? That's amazed me since day one.

his frat but has to ask if there are blacks in Brazil? We're on the highway to hell and we have Dubya in the driver's seat.

6. The "sex slavery" remarks in Bush's UN speech....
...was an attempt to twist Russia's arm into donating troops and money. They don't obviously don't like having their arm twisted. Definitely a miscalculation on Rove's part.
BTW his success record lately has definitely not been that good.
His tough guy act is wearing off. It never works in the long term.

8. I think Pooty Poot senses blood in the water.
He sounds like a leader who can flex his muscles and get away with it, and he knows he can, so he is.

This doesn't bode well for Bush at all. He is starting to look like the amatuer that he is, not to us, we knew he was an amatuer, but to people who matter to him.
