Politicians rush to support Ten Commandments rally

By NANCY BADERTSCHER
Atlanta Journal-Constitution Staff Writer

Some of Georgia's most powerful political leaders today endorsed a grass-roots movement supporting Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore and displays of the Ten Commandments in government buildings.

Good Lord. Just when I start to think Atlanta is a metropolitain town with plenty of sense, this sort of crap happens. Oh, and Zell was there. I'm sure that'll come as a shock to everyone. Or not.

1. It is both sad and scary that these politicians
don't understand the constitution and the concept of religious liberty. They don't know the history of their own country.

2. Pandering. That's all it is.
Even "liberals" like Hillary Clinton were in that "under God in the pledge" rally.

Gotta pander to the Jesus fan club.

(Not being critical of ALL Christians, just teh "holier-than-thou" fundies)

3. Well, thank God for this happy crappy!
God only knows what would happen to the Ten Commandments if Georgia politicians didn't rally in their support. Why, they'd probably be totally forgotten tomorrow -- a fate much more appropriate to these pandering politicians.

I'd like to see some sort of fine system instituted: Any elected official showing up for one of these sanctimonious rallies has to pay $1,000 for every Sunday he didn't go to church in the 10 years prior to showing up for one of these things. Faithful church-goers wouldn't pay a dime; hypocrites would watch their campaign war chests disappear.
