Half of Kenya's judges 'corrupt'

Half of Kenya's judges and nearly a third of its magistrates are corrupt, according to a committee investigating the Kenyan judiciary.

The committee, itself led by a judge, gathered evidence against five of the country's nine judges in the court of appeals - Kenya's highest court - and against 18 of the 36 in the high court.

"Corruption has resulted in a loss of confidence in the judiciary as an institution," said Justice Aaron Ringera, head of committee.

The judges accused of corruption were not identified publicly.

The Judge enters the Courtroom and says "I have received a bribe of $1000 from the Defendant and $1500 from the Plaintiff, I am returning $500 to the Plaintiff and will make a decsion based on the merits of this case"

who are imported under some vague agreement. The High Court Judges are the absolute worst, almost of the caliber of a certain five Justices.....

One of them, Kneller, once acquited an American marine by the name of Sundstrom, who had murdered a prostitute who refused to suck his you-know-what. Sundstrom had given her two hundred shillings and she had placed it in a drawer next to the bed. After totally brutalising her and we don't even want to know what he did with the body, he took all the money that was in the drawer and put it in his pocket. The High Court judge asked him how much money he removed and he said it was five hundred shillings. He was then fined five hundred shillings and sentenced to time served.
The Judge was deported forthwith.
The Kenya government said that they could not guarantee his safety within Kenyan borders.
And the very next year, another American serviceman, Tyson, offed another Kenyan woman. The outcome was very simliar.

Then, when the US Embassy by the building next door when it was bombed, the marines shot at Kenyans like you would not believe.
They prevented rescuers from pulling out the wounded and the dying and they killed very many Kenyan people in the vicinity who had witnessed the entire incident.

Other developments point to racism on the part of personnel at the US embassy. Rescuers who arrived at the embassy to help victims were sent scampering by armed marines. The ambassador later said that these were looters, and a travel advisory was issued by the US advising citizens not to visit Kenya and Tanzania. The advisory was lifted a week later.

5. When you see this groundswell of support for Sharia law..

these are the sort of things you need to take notice of. Kenya isn't so Muslim but in other parts of Africa where they are modernity and European influence gave them a western style court system that became in most cases a parody of the corruption that exists within our own.

At least the local Imam isn't a corrupt fool. You don't need a lawyer and a shitload of money to get out of things. He's just happy with repentance and will probably let you off the hook with a flogging (or maybe nothing) and your contrition.
