Could Rush be the next Trent Lott? Will his sponsors pull?

2. Absolutely, he is a racist.
He is good at flying under the wire. We dem's and democratic supported social service groups have been targeted by his abusive, discriminating antics for years. He's had a lot of practice.

Now, are the fans going to see the man for the bigot he really is? I don't know, do they really care?

4. CNN just did segment w/SI editor on the Cyst's racism.
I only caught a little, but if he continues getting kicked around enough, maybe they'll boot him off my tv. :)

7. If You Really Wanna Push this Story and Get Rid of Limpballs
Here's my suggestion:

What Rush did is 8 times worse than Jimmy the Greek's comments that got him fired way back when.

Jimmy, speaking in ignorance, said something he believed just might be true, not intending to spark controversy.

Rush, speaking in flatulence, said something he knows damn well isn't true for the sole purpose of sparking controversy + ratings.

CBS had the dignity to remove a popular broadcaster from the air for inappropriate comments, almost immediately.

ESPN clings to their boy hoping for controversy-generated ratings.

ESPN's cynicism should be rejected with a full-on boycott. Boycotted by TV viewers, and boycotted by players and other NFL professionals, who should flat out refuse to be interviewed by any ESPN broadcaster or employee until Rush's ass is GONE.

Football is the most integrated sport in the US. Why Rush has a problem with that is beyond my understanding. You don't get as far in broadcasting as he has by being a fucktard who can't work with people of all colors and mentalities.

8. appologists at the network
it wasn't racial... he was stating an opinion about news coverage.... he was hired for his ability to voice strong opinions and spark discussion (and boy, according to the article, has he delivered).

Clue espn. The conversation he sparked wasn't about the 'idea' he suggested (media coverage) - it him and the racist content of his commentary. Clue again espn. That is not a good thing.

Sheez.

9. Now, keep in mind that I hate Rush...
...however his comments are not racist. Not as they are reflected in this article anyway. Inappropriate? Probably. I don't think the forum choosen was the one for this discussion, nor do I think it's really an observation that really needed to be made. I think it is far more racist to keep refering to them as "black quarterbacks" instead of just "quarterbacks". Let their merits stand alone and leave their race out of the discussion.

10. Is America Racist?
"Nagle said that with Limbaugh on the show this season, ratings for Sunday NFL Countdown are up 10 percent overall, and 26 percent among the 18-to-34 male demographic."

I think so.

They certainly respond to him on a viscereal level, and that's that he's all about.

12. More From AP
By JIM LITKE
AP Sports Columnist

If Rush Limbaugh and his enablers over at ESPN were really keen to smash NFL stereotypes, there's no better place to begin than by making sure "Playmakers" gets canceled before the next episode hits the airwaves.

That would make Limbaugh a hero to football fans across the political spectrum. Unfortunately, it also would require work, something Limbaugh has been loath to do, judging by his "Sunday Rush" segments so far for the all-sports network.
