Former Centcom commander says heads should roll at the Pentagon
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20031001/wl_mideast_afp/iraq_us_zinni&cid=1514&ncid=1473

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A former top US military commander called for the dismissal of key Pentagon officials, saying he was "disappointed" by their failure to properly plan for post-war developments in Iraq and warning that the US military could reach "the breaking point."

Retired general Anthony Zinni, who headed the US Central Command from 1997 to 2000, did not name the officials he would like to see leave.

But when asked on PBS television's "The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" if heads should roll at the Department of Defense, Zinni answered: "Absolutely."

"Any time we lose lives, any time we have miscalculated, any time we have to go back to the American people and ask for more treasure, more sacrifice and it was not calculated and it should have been, then somebody should be held responsible," he pointed out.

2. Actually, there total failure as leaders
only help the dem's look good. We, the democrats, need to be the offical change there. If Rummy and gang are replaced, then the replacements will be given an opportunity to correct the damage. Of course, we know they will not do that but the "hope" will have impact.

4. Tommy Franks - lapdog for the administration
What a sorry excuse for a general! Takes our troops over there and then bails out after "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED." He is one I would hold accountable, although he has already retired.

6. Texas Tommy...
What a fascist, lapdog punk. The only reason Bush chose him to lead the effort, is that he's part of the "Texas cabal", and could be entrusted to carry out their orders for world domination, without whining, ...or telling their secrets.

5. Heads Should Indeed Roll
The armed forces have become distressingly politicized, and verge on being nothing but a subsidiary of reactionary Republicans at this time. That is a deadly danger to the peoples rule.

7. WOOOOOWWWWW
This is big, especially someone like who spent a lot of time in the middle east. It gives me a hope that there are some good people left who are not afraid to say to truth
