2. I'll mourn for these poor guys later, but right now I'm just
FUCKING ANGRY!!!! :argh:

They should never have been sent back. This was a sop to Bush Co. because we didn't sign on to his piracy in Iraq.

3. I agree....
it was a very sad trade off that will cost Canadian lives. I knew it was only a matter of time before we would lose lives there.

5. I wouldn't be Angry...
I'd like to believe our soldiers in Afghanistan were there trying to make that country a better place for its citizens. Afghanistan was a center for terror and if I were to be angry about anything it would be how we are failing in Afghanistan due to indifference but trumpeting to the world like its some kind of success.

10. Hi Tommy ...
Welcome to DU!

I was fearing this would happen ... first our (civilian) people in the Iraq bombing, now two more.

How many will die, trying to clean up the messes that Bush has made around the world?

4. The Defence dept warned
we were likely to lose ten in Afghanistan.

I don't like it...but if our soldiers have to be somewhere, better there than Iraq.

6. Very sad, but...
At least it's not "friendly fire."

They did know it was a dangerous situation. Sad for their families though.

Two Canadian soldiers were killed and another three were injured when their vehicle struck an explosive device in the Afghan capital of Kabul on Thursday.

"We know that two were killed and three suffered minor injuries," Jim Munson, communications chief for Prime Minister Jean Chrétien, told globeandmail.com.

The two soldiers died while on patrol on a road, more of a "sandy track," about 3 1/2 kilometres southwest of Kabul, Canadian Major-General Andrew Leslie told a news conference by telephone from Kabul.
