snips:>>
(Indiana)Republican gubernatorial candidate Mitch Daniels continues to deny allegations that he helped defraud investors...

...a federal judge consolidated multiple investor lawsuits against top executives and members of the IPALCO board. Daniels' campaign officials contend the consolidation means he is no longer a defendant. But the court record does not indicate that any action has been taken to dismiss any of the defendants from the litigation...

The plaintiffs are seeking $100 million to make good on losses from their 401(k) and retirement plans...

...He was subpoenaed by state regulators reviewing the IPALCO case on May 2 and resigned from his White House post May 6 to run for Indiana governor.

1. Hmm...
Doesn't bode well in his run for governor. But then again, it appears you can do anything and are above the law if you're a member of the GOP.

2. If I recall correctly, we did not know
about the subpoena until the day after her resigned. Am I wrong?

3. Hoosiers don't tolerate this sort of thing
If the Dems can nominate a strong candidate -- maybe Kernan can be convinced to run -- then Daniels is beatable, but right now, there's no viable Dem running for the office.

5. Kernan certainly gave mixed signals
Earlier this week, he said nothing had happened in the past couple of weeks that makes him reconsider, but later in the same piece in the Indianapolis Star, he says he and his wife haven't discussed it yet.

6. Those comments by his wife were NOT accidental...
A trial balloon if I ever saw one, and I didn't sense any outrage about him going back on his word...

4. Make that GOVERNOR Daniels...
Why? Because 8 out of 10 Hoosiers can't tell you the names of who's running on the Dem side. All they know is that Frank died, Joe didn't want the job when Frank was still alive, and Mitch worked for Dubya, and Dubya's fighting that terraist so-dam insane in Eye-rack...

I don't know what Joe Hoggsett's game is, but it's scaring the piss out of me right now...

I hope Joe Kernan changes his mind. at least we'll then have a candidate who's had his name in the news recently....

7. The only one I know is that Vy Whats-her-name
And I only know her because my wife occasionally deals with her in her work.

8. Vi Simpson
Daniels can be tarred with the Bush brush, you know. how many people are unemployed who held manufacturing jobs?

how many people would like to hear a message which focuses on alternative fuels which utilize corn and more.

how many people are reading about someone close to Bush who has betrayed this country for political gain?

if nothing else, this charge creates negative publicity, and gives opponents a way to attack Daniels as part of the Ken Lay crowd.

9. The Little Things That Almost Get Away
Thievery seems a requirement for office among these reptiles. Are there any who do not belong in the dock?
