Army sergeant on leave wins $150M jackpot
from CNN:

FITZGERALD, Georgia (AP) -- An Army sergeant on leave from South Korea claimed the $150 million jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery.

Stephen Moore, 30, had been visiting family during his 30-day leave when he bought the winning ticket at a convenience store.

He said he was out with his brother Tuesday night, and when he returned he found his wife, Danielle, waiting for him.

"She came out the door, and I thought I was in trouble," Moore said. "She said, 'Guess what, we won the lottery!"'

4. I wonder how much it costs to buy out of their enlistments
You can buy your way out ya know. In fact in the Civil War it was quite common to pay for your son not to go or to pay someone to go in his stead.

8. Positive
That said, with that much money, there is a possbility the military would "invite" you to leave if you expressed a desire to do so. They don't really want an E-6 woth $88M hanging around...

9. He and his enlisted wife have requested early release
and I expect it will be granted. Surely the army must realize this is a soldier who has just used up too much of his luck.

11. They will get it
The army doesn't really want multi-millionaire enlisted men and women around.
