2. Well...
That's some bad news this week.

I'll still take it (Arnold a Hitler fan and a sexual harasser over three decades, Rush fired and a outed as a 100 a day pill popping junkie, no WMD found according to the Kay report, and Spygate ripping a new one in Bushco's White House).

This has been a great week to be a liberal/progressive Democrat and an American.

3. It might still work out OK.
Mary Squires is not a bad candidate, just mostly unkown.

Sam Nunn's daughter would likely be a strong candidate, althought she is still very young, mid-30's I believe.

And then there is Max Cleland. I hope he goes for it. It would be so ironic if he were to end up serving with Saxby.

5. He could have my vote
But I'm not in his state. And I might be one of the only ones to vote for him.

Senators who just lost their seat don't usually do well running again.

9. From the article:
"Waiting in the wings could be Michelle Nunn, 36, the daughter of former Sen. Sam Nunn (D-Ga.) and founding director of Hands on Atlanta. Nunn said Thursday night she would give the race "serious consideration" if Young backed out."

7. I think this is probably for the best
If the Democratic Party is going to survive, they've got to develop new talent. Unfortunately, it sounds like several of the more promising candidates are gunning for the governor's office instead.

8. That's fine.
I would like to see some African-American candidates in the south and elsewhere, and Young was well qualified. But looking on the bright side, we could always use new faces as well. We need a dynamic candidate to be sure in Georgia. The head of the civil rights movement needs an African-American senator.
