UNIONS representing thousands of BBC journalists and technicians are to seek urgent talks over planned job cuts and have warned of fresh industrial action if agreement cannot be reached, it was announced last night. <snip>
The National Union of Journalists, BECTU and Amicus warned that they were prepared to launch fresh strikes without the need for another ballot.
The unions called off a 48-hour strike due to start yesterday after a proposed deal was reached during talks at the conciliation service ACAS last week.
A suggested agreement covering the privatisation of some jobs at the Corporation will be put to a ballot of employees. <snip>
