Can Rev. Al (Sharpton) be Limbaugh's air apparent?
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/314778p-269170c.html

Could there be any odder couple than Rush Limbaugh and Al Sharpton?
Not if I have anything to do with it.

Last week - after Matrix Media announced a deal for Sharpton to host a "Limbaugh of the Left"-type talk radio show - the conservative radio star said he'll think about mentoring the minister in the finer points of the medium.

Yesterday, Sharpton contacted me to say he's eager to accept the sort-of offer to (as Limbaugh put it on his own show Friday) "let guest-host the program for, like, 30 minutes at a time while I am sitting here critiquing him."

Sharpton told me: "I was a little surprised, but I'm willing to take him up on his speculative offer. I think it would be interesting. It would be something that both of us can learn from. He can learn some of the thoughts of the left, and I can learn some of the techniques of the right. Let's see if he's serious."

2. Anybody else listen to "Sharp Talk" on Sundays in NY on WLIB?
If Limpbaugh thinks he has anything to teach Sharpton about oratory and promotion, it's all the proof I need he's still doing Oxycontin.

pissed at Sharpton sometimes but if he's gonna be out there in a limbaugh of the left..I wouldn't complain.

He has the mental acuity to take on limbaugh..that's for sure.

7. Absolutely
Sharpton is witty and on his toes all the time. He out-quipped everyone during the primary debates and in my mind was close in every one because of it. (And this from an avid Kerry supporter)

He'll do well in an environment where he can inform and be entertaining at the same time.

even if he does accept money from the Republican party.

I think he'd be a threat if they let him stay on long enough. He makes too much sense.

12. It's a "hunch" because
these fascists don't play around..they're always thinking of ways to lie, cheat, and steal.

And if it leads to murdering innocent Iraqis and putting our Soldiers in harms way..so what?

11. Why do we need a Limbaugh of the left?
You're telling me we need a lying fascist thug to spew lies all afternoon on the radio? I don't think so.

And yes we know it's Heir Apparent but the writer was obviously being cute with Air...meaning radio air.

14. Funny thing about that..
with a leftie on ..all they have to do is tell the truth.

The reichs have to spew hatred and lies everyday 24/7.

limbaugh does such a good job that I'm sure they're doing everything possible to keep him out of jail and denigrate that mean 'ol Howard Dean for mocking him.

...we need someone with a mouth as big as Limbaugh's. Rev. Al doesn't need to lie; the truth is inflamatory enough, and people WILL tune in.

verbal fencing, if you will. Sharpton has a sharp tongue, that's for sure. Controlled and directed, it's quite an effective communication tool---he made a lot of true sense during the primary campaign and didn't default to that 'inside the beltway doublespeak to pimp your vote' vernacular that most politicians use. He kept it real, and perhaps that's why he gets discounted. Truth can make some people uncomfortable if it's not presented in a form in which they're willing to consider as acceptable.

What can he learn from 'Jabba'? How far conservatives will blatently go to lie to ill-informed people. How tightly and proudly ill-informed people will cling to their perceptions, even in the face of their own ruin. He'll learn that they'll go down with a ship of lies rather than be saved by the buoyancy and ballast of truth and integrity.

Hopefully, he will be able to use this as a means to slap some common sense on Jabba's listeners before they figure out that he's not supposed to make sense to them, yet does.

22. The GOP has been hot on Al Sharpton's tale for years. They need
to keep him busy. He is used as a wedge by Ayn Coulter. The prize in NY. My guess is Rice will be VP soon and they need to not have Al out there as a critic.

Al has lately been after the GOP plan to lower wages with guest workers. He is dangerous to them because Sharpton knows how to communicate.

34. The RW thinks they're a step ahead, of course.
Here's how it works:

They promote and even mentor a liberal radio voice.

That liberal radio voice, given all this free publicity, is their idea of the perfect opposition candidate (imagine us salivating over the prospect of running against, say, Newt or Cheney).

John and Joan Q. Public tune in and are HORRIFIED, HORRIFIED by the vile liberalosity of this... this... BLACK MAN!

Problem is, Sharpton can be incredibly (and disarmingly) charming, and people who tune in almost certainly won't be turned off by what they'll hear.

Go for it, Rush. Problem with your plan is, most Americans aren't the same type of bigoted, ignorant pricks that constitute the bulk of your listenership.

35. Yes Al has cleaned up good. He speaks so clearly that they need
to neutralize him. Think how much legitimacy he brings to the debate and the races and the conventions. If they can hand him a big salary - they can take him out as a Democratic leader.

Rove covets the leaders of democrats. That is how he flipped Texas. So if Sharpton is not going to join the Repukes - never - then they need to neutralize him. I believe they are convinced in all their vanity that they can flip New York, NY.

Yes it does not matter how (to neocons) they separate people from power. They'll separate us from our leaders in a variety of ways. Why look at how successfully they separated us from the MSM.

36. And now with Sharpton showing an interest in immigration issues and
future needs (why there will be labour shortage in 5 years that will benefit the young workers of the USA unless there are guest workers). Which side do you think Al will on in that case?

The elites cannot stand to see wage-earners gain power in those years 2014 to 2030. Because prices will rise. And with the price of oil going up ... that will cause inflation and hurt rich people.

So no benefit of an employees labor market for the worker of America.

Another reason to shut Al Sharpton up. Because he actually reads up on this stuff - and then he will talk about it openly.
