McClintock Calls on Schwarzenegger to Resign If Charges Prove True

State Senator Tom McClintock called on Arnold Schwarzenegger to withdraw from the race for governor if allegations of improper sexual advances prove to be true.

Asked by reporters what he would tell Schwarzenegger, McClintock said, "If those allegations are true, you should drop out of the race."

I do think it's interesting that the right initiated the recall, and even if it passes, will get someone antagonistic to their ideology in office. Some will dispute this assessment, I understand. Schwarzenegger, for all his bravado, would be highly amenable to pressure from various quarters. He loves making people "happy," not pissing people off. I think, though, he'd have no problem pissing off the rightists by supporting Wilsonite primary opponents to rightist legislators.

If Arnold is elected there will be multiple incidents in the statehouse. You just don't turn off this behavior overnight - or he would have between his last contemplation of run for office and now. He didnt.. probably because he can't. Its compulsive and ingrained.

I think the McClintock camp did..reason being..he was and still is way behind arnold....and the GOP hasn't been pushing him very hard to back out....
this may just be a big plan to get Tom in...without looking like the republican party is really that divided....
they gave arnie a chance to show himself..hoping the voters wouldn't approve ..now they had to fall back on the sexual advances issue...in hopes that people would vore for Tom
