Raw rap lets out Iraq GIs' anger (CD sold on web)
http://www.suntimes.com/output/iraq/cst-nws-rap02.html

As Staff Sgt. Terrance Staves dodged bullets recovering a burned-out Humvee in Baghdad's Sadr City, he heard a rocket-powered grenade zooming toward him.

All he could do was hold his breath, he recalled, when it crashed into the armored vehicle sitting in front of him.

Back at camp, Staves went to his makeshift recording booth to vent his anger and fear by spitting rap lyrics.

Some of those were used on ''Live From Iraq,'' an album he and a few other Fort Hood soldiers wrote, recorded and produced while on a one-year deployment in Iraq.

On the 15-track album, soldiers voice frustration at what they call shabby equipment and the lack of support they feel from the American public. The album vigorously defends soldiers charged with crimes for actions committed during the conflict.

You can see their trailer and listen to cuts here - note I haven't sampled yet. http://www.4th25.com/

1. I wonder how they'd feel about the Luntz propaganda commercial idea.

Something tells me they'd have some pretty choice words for that jerk.

2. We DO support the troops, just not their insane orders to invade Iraq.
Big difference. Bring 'em back alive.

3. But what about all those yellow
ribbons that are sold?

Doesn't mention the lies that bush told.

And this guy is satisfied with the conditions in Iraq.

4. Download the trailer video - well done and worth watching
Nothing we at DU haven't seen, but something the MSM doesn't show much of.

6. Good comment here from the soldier's website
These photos are of what has to be one of the single most stupid things that I have ever seen. WEAPONS BUY BACK... Now, can someone please explain to me why the fuck you would pay people top dollar for the biggest piece of shit weapons they can find? Most of these weapons dont even function properly, but, for some reason, unbeknowst to me, we decided to pay people cash (american dollars no less) if they turned in their weapons. Hmmm??? To somebody this idea made sense or else we would have never done it. Well, I know it made sense to our enemy... cause all they did was take the money they earned from turning in these weapons, and invest it into newer functional weapons... weapons they could actually use to kill us... like, better RPG's (rocket propelled grenades... especially ones that are made to penetrate armor), newer AK47's, explosives and so on. And I can't help but think that the only thing running across their minds was "man, these americans are some of the dumbest fuckers ever... how can they be so stupid as to fund a war against themselves"... because thats exactly what we did. And, about 2 months later, after they had ordered all their new weapons, we got to see first hand how stupid WEAPONS BUY BACK actaully was.

8. A coincidence, I'm sure
but would this be a bad time to mention that 350 tons of ammunition was stolen right out from under U.S. custody in Iraq?
