U.S. Congressman Mark Green, R-Green Bay, noted the successes of and challenges faced by the U.S. military presence in Iraq when he spoke with reporters on Thursday about his recent trip there. The congressman was in Iraq from May 29-May 31.
He said troops in Iraq are being confronted with growing threats from terrorists outside of the country.
He said terrorists from Syria and Iran have technologically advancing weapons against U.S. troops in Iraq. And borders with Syria and Iran are unprotected, an aspect of life in Iraq that has not improved in the last year, he said.
