U.S. Disappproves of Indo-Iranian gas pipeline
http://internationalreporter.com/news/read.php?id=603

<snip>

Leading Pak dailies have already reported the views of US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice giving warning against proceeding with the gas lifeline from Iran. Some State officials were quoted as saying that the pipeline "could expose energy deficient India and Pakistan to US sanctions".

"All that the United States has asked India was that, it hoped we were aware of the their concerns. We told in response that we are aware of your concerns but hope that you, too, are aware of our concerns." But India looks to have turned a deaf ear to their political advice.

<snip>

Whatsoever may be the argument advanced by Mr. Aiyar on behalf of India, US is not convinced. On the contrary US is unhappy to see India's growing relations with Iran on the issue of pipeline. International Reporter had already warned India that US would not be happy with their relationship with Iran on the issue of establishing pipeline.

US considers Iran as its dead enemy and would not hesitate even to launch an attack by sanctions or otherwise. Pakistan can read the mood of the United States and would like to keep them pleased at any cost.

2. What's the matter with the idiots running these damn countries? Don't
they understand that they have to get the blessing of the Neocon before they decide on anything. That includes pipelines, armaments purchases, how they value their currency, ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. When are these dumb asses gonna get that straight????????????

4. I think it is a little vain for the neocons to think they could take on
the world and rule it. The world is big!

Just a thought.

7. How about this? If the world is too big for the cons to take
on.... perhaps they can sow discord between nations and start conflicts where none exist.... much easier to pick up the pieces afterward....

10. Exactly. If the UN cannot coordinate and the ICC cannot put people
on trial for war crimes - what is left?

Like everyone in the world has to be dumbed down so they can be the power.

Let every government in the world go democratic - but only democratic in the way the neocons want. Then they walk in because they are not tied up by all the laws the democracies are following.

Why they don't even want competition in many industries. Oil, military, intelligence, technology. But they will impose no 'nationalization of the y industry in country x'. One set of rules for them. One set of rules for everyone else to follow.

5. It is funny to watch
an administration that is the biggest debtor nation, with no military capability left, unable to recruit enough to maintain current commitments, act like they are a superpower to be reconned with. Bush can't do diddly and the world knows it.

18. Are you aware of what some certain, large, powerful,
well to do U.S. corps have done in and to India?? It makes for interesting reading if that sort of thing fascinates you... it does me since I like to know why things are the way they are rather than blame everything on "evildoers", including the ones that sprout on D.C.

Dabhol is 65% owned by Enron; two other US firms, General Electric and Bechtel each hold 10%.

Dabhol was shut in 2001 after the state of Maharashtra failed to pay for power.

Fire sale

Maharastra State Electricity Board (MSEB) is the fourth shareholder in the Dabhol plant, with 15%, and was its sole customer.

Talks took place last week in India between the foreign shareholders and potential buyers, Reuters reported.

The sale price for Dabhol - which cost $2.9bn to build, and was once one of India's showcase foreign investments - certainly appears to be falling.

Bush's imperial America is not my country! It is a totalitarian abomination that bears no resemblance to what used to be the American Republic.
