"An ad-hoc coalition of Jewish organizations and right-wing groups in New York is planning a mass rally against the Gaza disengagement, only a few hours after Sunday's official Salute to Israel parade.
Some 100,000 marchers - and 1 million onlookers - are expected for the Salute to Israel solidarity parade on Manhattan's Fifth Avenue. This year's slogan will be "Saluting Israel, Celebrating America, Two Golden Lands."
However, one of the organizers of the counter demonstration, Dr. Joseph Frager, told Haaretz on Saturday that "the protest against disengagement ...is the true solidarity event with Israel."
Protest organizers ordered 5,000 orange T-shirts to distribute to the protesters, although they are hoping twice that many people participate in the Central Park event, in what they say will be the largest demonstration against an Israeli government decision in the community's memory."
