Aruba police detain 2 in missing-girl case

Police in Aruba have detained two men in connection with the disappearance of missing Alabama high school graduate. The two are security guards near the Holiday Inn where Natalee Holloway was staying and were not among the three men in whose company Holloway was last seen. Holloway, 18, was on a senior trip with classmates when she went missing nearly a week ago.

Friends have said they have pictures of her dancing with young men at the club.

Authorities have said they talked to the three men who left with her, and the men claim they took Holloway to Arashi Beach before dropping her off at her hotel at about 2 a.m.

The Associated Press reports her uncle, Paul Reynolds, as saying he was told security cameras did not show her return to the hotel that night. The AP says police declined to comment on that report."

My heart goes out to this family and if it were my daughter, I'd want the story on 24x7 especially since there is proof that keeping a story alive in the first 72 hours of someones disappearance increases the chances of being found, hopefully alive. However, that said, there are so many people (sadly) that go missing everyday and it would be impossible for such stories to be covered unless there was perhaps a cable channel dedicated to soley that topic.

Then, there is the story we are all too familiar with - the fact that Mainstream Media (MSM) is constantly covering everything else they can except for the corrupt activities and failing war on Iraq from Bush Co.

The fact that this girl is a white, southern, blond, female teenager and that she is beautiful is ofcourse a tasty morsel for the viewing audience, but I don't believe that it is the only reason its being covered.
