Iraqi Children Escape Horrors Of War At "Fun City"

Baghdad, Iraq -- A suicide car bomb exploded in Western Baghdad Monday. Three policd officers and three bystanders were wounded.

For the millions of people who live in Baghdad there is not much escape from the violence and terror, but there are signs that people are trying to reclaim a normal lifestyle.

They are heading to "Fun City," the only place to relieve themselves.

It is an expansive amusement park developed three decades ago in Eastern Baghdad.

CNN did a long video segment on "Fun City" today. It was kinda like Michael Moore's kids-flying-kites episode that got the righties all riled up. "Fun City" is now inside a heavily fortified compound, according to CNN (sounds FUN!). The reporter gave her report while standing in front of an old carnival ride much like the crap you see at summer fairs held in the church parking lot...with ONE adult riding a crappy circular thing, so boring I can't even think of the name for it...kinda like that Matterhorn ride, where you side in a cart and in just goes round and round and round...except not nearly that cool. The whole place looked like that.

Anyway, I digress. Clearly WFMY didn't just coincidentally decide to do this story on the same day CNN did. This was a Rove piece, one of the "good stories you never hear them tell you about Iraq!"

Meanwhile, the REAL news stories today included one about Baghdad being so dangerous that "the most powerful military on earth cannot even control a two mile stretch of roadway."

Fun city, my ass.
