Governor appoints campaign, Bush veterans to top positions

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is adding several new faces to his communications operation as he prepares to launch an expected high-stakes special election campaign, two of whom who have connections to the Bush White House.
Mindy Tucker Fletcher, 34, has joined the Schwarzenegger administration as deputy chief of staff for external affairs. A Texas native, Fletcher served as press secretary during President Bush's 2000 presidential campaign and worked for Bush during his years as Texas governor.
After the 2000 campaign, Fletcher served as a spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee and for the U.S. Department of Justice under Attorney General John Ashcroft. She comes to the Schwarzenegger administration from Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, where she served as a senior vice president in the company's San Diego office.

Another veteran of the Bush White House, Christopher James "Jimmy" Orr, 39, has been tapped to be Schwarzenegger's chief deputy director of communications. Orr, who served as a spokesman and Internet director for President Bush from 2001-2004, will focus primarily on improving Schwarzenegger's Internet communications efforts.
