Australian Senate censures PM Howard over Iraq war
SYDNEY, Oct. 7 — Australia's Senate censured Prime Minister John Howard on Tuesday for misleading the country about the reasons for going to war against Iraq.

The motion to censure the prime minister was put by Greens' Senator Bob Brown, who said Howard misled Australians by claiming Iraq had weapons of mass destruction that posed a threat to Australia.

1. Too bad so many in the U.S. senate are Bush ass kissers
Maybe someday we'll have a Senate that isn't a majority of Bush lapdogs.

2. Bob Brown (Greens) wants Bush to debate the parliament...
to explain why he misled everyone over the war. God, I'd pay to see that!!!

3. If Howard is wrong, does it follow that Bush and Blair are wrong
I am just curious as I have no idea how the arguments of logic work. Unless Australia based their argument on a faulty premise Bush should be uprooted. Will this carry over to the U.K.? Will Dean and Clark use this to batter Bush just before the deep frying. One of the biggest parts of the "Coalition of the Willing" just censured their PM, this should have big ripples in the pond.

5. It's not the first time Howard has been censured...
and I think he was even censured over Iraq before. A Senate censure has not political power - it's basically symbolic.

As for Howard and lying, his excuses range from blaming the US and UK for providing the intelligence, to saying that Australian intel had other information (which has to stay secret, of course)...

4. I hope this is just the beginning of "accountability"
That would be almost "refreshing" to see some of the "coalition" taken to task for that illegal invasion/occupation/slaughter

From the article:

"Before the war, the Senate declared it had no confidence in Howard, the first time since parliament was formed more than 100 years ago that support was withdrawn for a sitting prime minister. It also censured the government over its deployment of troops to Iraq."

I hope we see sumthing along this effort in Murikkka and Britain

Guess The Aussies won't be too interested in Syria/Iran/Lebanon - whoever's next on the BFEE's list - ??

One can hope - no ?

6. Just realized who all is on the BFEE's LIST !
LIST

L = Lebanon

I = Iran

S = Syria

T = Turkey

So that pretty well does in the Middle East no ? - Saudis are already "in bed" with the BFEE so I sorta doubt they are in the LIST

just a thot
