MIAMI - Republican U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris' entry into the U.S. Senate race may be particularly welcomed by a group of Democrats - the three running for governor.

If Harris does inspire Democrats to turn out to support incumbent Democrat Bill Nelson, they'll also vote for the Democratic nominee for governor, the argument goes.
The two prominent Republicans also running for governor - Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher and Attorney General Charlie Crist - say they're not worried one bit about sharing the ballot with Harris.
"The Democrats are going to tell you 'Our Democrats are going to come out and avenge 2000.' Well, that's the same crap they said in 2002 and 2004," said David Johnson, a political strategist for Gallagher and former executive director for the Republican Party of Florida. "We were braced for it and they didn't show up. I think 2000 is long gone."
