Cheney Criticizes Dean Over Remarks
WASHINGTON -
Howard Dean is "over the top," Vice President
Dick Cheney says, calling the Democrats' chairman "not the kind of individual you want to have representing your political party."

"I've never been able to understand his appeal. Maybe his mother loved him, but I've never met anybody who does. He's never won anything, as best I can tell," Cheney said in an interview to be aired Monday on Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes."

Dean was elected governor of Vermont five times between 1992 and 2000. He ran for the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination but closed down his campaign after poor showings in early primaries.

In recent weeks, Dean has described the GOP as "pretty much a white, Christian party" and said many Republicans have "never made an honest living." Republican leaders have called on him to apologize, and even some Democrats have distanced themselves from his remarks.

20. Truly!
Sounds as if Cheney's afraid of Howard Dean.

Cheney's gossiping about him to a bunch of brain-dead tools probably won't discourage Howard Dean too much.

70. Indeed. I love the flat out lying 'Never won anything'. Oh yeah? That's
why he was elected governor so many times. Go figure.

Well, to be fair, Bush has never won anything either. He gets everything handed to him.

...with the difference being that he's telling the truth. Assholes like Bush, Cheney, Hannity, Limbaugh, and Coulter can dish out criticism but can't tolerate any aimed at them.

I desperately want Dean to keep pushing hard on them. Show them for the temperamental, immature, cowardly little phonies they are. Once they are exposed, beating them will be easy.

Damn, was it not these same folks that did not stand with Clinton and then rammed the knife in his back at every turn. Uh huh...We finally get a person that is saying what needs be said and fighting back and what do some of us do? Yep, side with the reprobates on the right. Same as what some did to Al Sharpton when he gave his address before the dem convention in New York last year. Hell, within 10 minutes after his speech we had some dems appearing on cnn and faux and began kissing right wing ass, saying, oh he does not speak for all of us....And to how should Dean respond to Cheney... Well, the next time Dean meets Cheney face to face, Dean should look Cheney in the Face and say" Mr vice president, personally, I think you are a fucking idiot". Folks we are never going to win back the Presidency or the house or the senate if all we got in washington is a bunch of kiss ass, go along, get along dems that needs to grow a pair, and at times it is a damn shame that the only dems in congress that have a set of balls, are the ones that were born without a set.....

O shades of:

"Challenged on the Today show yesterday by Matt "Behold My Stubbly Mane That Indicates I Am a Grown-Up" Lauer, Dean picked up Lauer, slammed him on the faux coffee table and whispered, calmly, in Lauer's ear that Democrats are tired of being the bottoms of the political fuck machine."

Is it so? Has The Howard really been reading the Rude Pundit, or am I reaching here?

Dick Cheney IS white, and he's supposedly "Christian", and so is Bush although I really have my doubts about their religion.

Saying that the GOP is the party of white christians is like saying there are a lot of minorities on the Black Entertainment cable channel, it's almost trite. Furthermore the swine lied by saying that Dean said all republicans never worked a day, when he really said some republicans never worked a day in their life. To say that some have never worked a day in their life is a pedestrian statement, because the legislation they bring forth proves they've never done real work, starting with W. It's a lot of "I invented the internet" shit, to distract people from the facts about Bush lying to congress before the Iraq war. This is how the media pigs earn their keep.

Dr.Howard Dean must be loving the reaction his words have created in Cheny's world. Point is, Dean IS getting a reaction indeed, to draw the money sucking vampire Dick Cheney out from his bilion dollar underground bunker to respond to the truth of Dr. Howard Dean.

Go Howard Go!!!! hhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaa

"....I've never been able to understand his appeal. Maybe his mother loved him, but I've never met anybody who does. He's never won anything, as best I can tell," Cheney said in an interview to be

80. EVERYTIME DEAN IS DISSED WE GIVE A SMALL CONTRIB TO DNC:
ON another thread at DU but so good had to say something about it here.

here is what I passed to my friend outside of DU:

DO IT!!!

If you want to stick it to Dick Cheney as associated with his disparaging comments on Howard Dean: "he's over the top....I don't know who likes him...maybe his mother....he's not the kind of person who needs to be the representative for a party..." in USA Today on 6.12.05, then make a small contribution to the Dem Party!

".....Dean's former campaign chairman warns Democrats away from that kind of thinking -- and urges his party to see Dean's frankness as an asset. "Anyone who tries to change Howard and to remake him is making a big mistake," Steven Grossman said. "Time to time, Howard says things that he feels the need to clarify, that he recognizes by definition that it may have been misinterpreted. But at the end of the day, plain speaking, blunt, direct, is such a breath of fresh air in the Democratic Party, that on balance serves this out-of-power party well by his candor." http://archive.salon.com/news/feature/2005/06/07/dean/index.html

I just donated 10 bucks in support of Howard's style.

111. what Dean should say in some statement or interview
Edited on Sun Jun-12-05 11:12 PM by Senator Lamb

Well, I must be hitting some nerve when the Vice President decides to come out of his bunker. Though I appreciate the strategic advice the VP is giving to our party, I dont think its best to listen the people that have the lowest approval rating in history for any second administration, where the radical agenda is being defeated. Day by day, after the attempted fear mongering and proclaimed culture wars, dividing this country, the real truth is being provided to the American people by hard undenaliable real facts, something spin can not get rid of.

The VP mentioned that I was never elected but thats a lie, and not a suprise coming from the VP. the truth is I was elected 5 times by the people of Vermont and I am gracious, and in return I have always tried hard to tell the honest truth, the pledge of any elected official. This is the responsiblitly the VP has rejected not only in his statements about me, but the fact that he lied about the reasons for this war in Iraq saying there was an immenent danger from WMD's, a danger so immenent that we couldnt afford the time to develop a post-war plan, couldnt afford time to build a larger coalition and get international support, hurting our image, and that we had no choice but send our troops into war without proper armor and supplies. now we realize that these were all choices.

(if the interviewer asks about the mother comment, idk, its up to your guys, but should Dean say this)

How about this, he wont talk about my mother and I wont talk about his daughter.

(nah, too mean, but it would be real funny if he couuld)

We Democrats all agree that you should follow your own advice and "Go fuck yourself!" Preferably live on FOX News, with your daughter's dildo (we have intelligence that shows us exactly where she hides it). If confused refer to your wife's book, or ask Jeff for some advice. Exxon will rewrite the laws of nature for you if you want a vagina. Otherwise just shove it up your ass, but don't break any sodomy laws or we'll impeach you. By the way, I have "better things to do" than to go fight this war in Iraq - I know you understand, despite the fact that I've never met you before today.

All the best,
-T

PS: We overcharged you by $500 million with the no bid contract you awarded us to clean up the oil we dumped all over your home. It was a mistake by our accountant, who is being tortured until she admits she 'hates your freedom'. We have photos if you'd like to see her naked and humiliated.

117. Cheney's such a slime
Has there ever been a Vice President who got away with making remarks like "Go fuck yourself" and dogging an opponent with "Maybe his mother loved him..." with very little in the way of repercussions? This is unprecedented bullshit. The American media is such a ridiculous joke. I mean, they report these things about Cheney, but seem to only do their "in-depth" analysis on stories critical of the Dems. Whatever buzz this story generates will be gone in a matter of hours w/o the media whores constantly flogging it to keep it afloat.

This dogpile on Dean (by the whore media, sellout Dems, and the usual 'pugs) is getting totally ridiculous. I wasn't initially a major fan of Dean but each time he gets flack for showing passion and telling it like it is I become a bigger supporter of him. God knows we need someone in our party willing to do it.

Remember, Cheney is part of the administration that was supposed to "restore honor and dignity to the White House." That statement is turning out to be two tons of horseshit rather than the single ton of horseshit I initially thought it was.
