W/ or w/out Susan, GMA impeachment to push through (Arroyo impeachment)

MANILA, June 13, 2005 (STAR) By Delon Porcalla - Opposition members in the House of Representatives are girding to impeach President Arroyo despite the calls for sobriety made by actress Susan Roces, widow of actor and presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr.

House Minority Leader Francis Escudero said the inquiry on Wednesday into a controversial wiretapped recording of a conversation allegedly between the President and Commission on Elections Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano will push through. <snip>

Escudero vowed to make good the opposition’s promise to file the impeachment complaint against Mrs. Arroyo once they have managed to "authenticate" the recording of the incriminating conversation in which the President allegedly discussed with Garcillano how to ensure her victory.

Before Poe died of a stroke in December last year, he accused Mrs. Arroyo of massive cheating in the May 2004 presidential race. <snip>
