Creating a Christian flag for God and country
Sometimes, news article require no comment. You simply post it and let it speak for it's rather scary self.

http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/local/bal-md.flag12jun12,1,938178.story?ctrack=2&cset=true

COLORA - Marcia Thompson Eldreth sees in the United States a Christian nation, inspired by Scripture and dedicated to propositions conveyed in biblical prophesy. She asks: Why not a U.S. national Christian flag? "Our nation was based on Judeo-Christian principles," Eldreth said. "Blessed is the country whose God is Lord."

Phones were ringing steadily on six lines, Eldreth said, when a thunderstorm rolled in over the house. "I turned on the prayer and worship music because it started to feel like a spiritual attack," Eldreth said. She recalled stepping to the front door in time to see lightning strike a utility pole across the road: "I saw a ball of blue fire come off that telephone pole." The bolt knocked out the phones until the next morning. Eldreth understood it as a sign.

"I took it as spiritual warfare," Eldreth said. "I grinned when the fire come off the pole." She said she thought, "Thanks for the affirmation, Satan."

In her rendition, the eagle soars in a sky-blue field encircled by a band of red, representing the blood of Christ, encircled by another band of blue representing Christ's bruises. Flying on a ribbon in the eagle's beak is a quote from Matthew 24: "Take heed that no man deceive you." A blue border tracing the rectangle of the flag is salted with 50 stars, representing, Eldreth said, "American Christians in each of the 50 states."

2. Forgot to Add this Little Tidbit
Eldreth figures this year's show will again inspire a rush of orders for the flag, which shows an American bald eagle in flight, holding in its beak a quote from the New Testament, in its talons a bloody crucifix.

... shouldn't such a flag depict the mangled, bloody remains of an Iraqi child amidst the ruins of her Tomahawked home? I'd support a flag like that, as it would faithfully reflect our Christian "values."

You know that no KKKristian flag could ever have a brown-skinned heathen on it! Even if they were dripping with blood to represent KKKristianity's triumph over the godless infidels.

This christo-fascist thing is a cult, and I fear it's become pretty pervasive in this country under Bush.

the best flags are simple (the SSB is acceptable, but a little complex, hence the reason you always see it abbreviated in images and cartoons) look at le Tricolour, or the Rising Sun, Maple Leaf, Swiss Cross, simple and clean, insignia are for battle flags.

I think she'd better get down on those cellulite-laden knees and beg God to help her focus on saner ways to spend her time.

Marcia Thompson Eldreth says she was divinely inspired. She
recalls praying, "This is your flag, Lord, what do you want on it?"

burning these flags! Until that happens though, I was thinking the same way you are. Should be good and open season on doing them now. If only we can come up with some "long burning" flags that we can make cheaply to do this and not reward her by buying them from her site!

36. She's from Maryland & Got her Idea from the 700 Club
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 09:32 AM by AuntiBush
According to the Baltimore Sun Newspaper. The article was in yesterday's Sunday edition and it literally took up an entire page! You won't see that for our troops, much less the outage from the Bush Adm.

They ran a photo or two of her (I threw it away and canceled my subscription today because of a Kinsley article ridiculing the left liberals about the Downing Street Memo).

Now, the 700 Club is going to help her sell it! Guess they can hang it up along side the confederate flags popping-up all over Cecil & Baltimore County, MD where it's noted she is from. A common-knowledge/known county of KKK appreciators, another article (very tiny) noted Bonosboro, I think Carroll Co or Frederick Co., MD are preparing for a KKK rally or parade of sorts in about a month. I thought all of this was out-lawed years back. The town of Bonosboro hurried a law through days ago that had something to do with banning gun-toting within a particular area near some park where this KKK group are suppose to be rallying. The KKK obviously didn't like this.

Anyway, this is what's going on in Maryland thanks to Bush's ideologies. And as a "white Christian woman," this gives me 1 more reason to hang my head in shame as I do not aide, nor abet to any of this. Assuming the Bush Adm just loves this as I see them doing nothing to stop it. What's new.

Nice, real nice, huh. We just stepped back into a time-warp.

To have a front page(Sunday!) covered with that kind of crap is the sort of thing I'd expect from the local fishwrap.

For that matter, what has happened to Maryland? We always had our share of whackjobs(quite right about Balto. Co.) but they generally had enough shame not to air their stupidity in public.

Man, I leave the place for 22 years and you people let it go to hell;>) Though I'm sure the social situation is still vastly superior to what I tolerate here.

Growing-up in the inner-city way back when, it was the best! I enjoyed a dramatic varient of cultures; had tons of friends from every race, creed, religious/non-religous background and all ages, maritial status, etc.

It was beautiful and I miss it every day. So many have either moved-on, out-of-state given-up on Maryland eons ago. If I think too long on it, my heart breaks. Not one big corporate groups care about the city, though they claim they do - bull. The Sun... well, I think they're too close to D.C. Fear maybe? Influences? Probably.

Note; You mention that "you people let it go to hell?" Don't blame all of us. It's like saying all of us have control of what's goin on in D.C. right now.

Just a lame attempt at humor. I suppose I'm as much to blame as anyone, since I carried my leftie vote to a place where it does absolutely no good at all.

I'm an old Highlandtowner myself. Growing up was more "East Side Kids" than "Leave It To Beaver". I developed a great love for Nature despite my surroundings. Between the tragedy of the Bay and the sprawl which has destroyed many of my old stomping grounds I'd have gone monkeywrench/postal if I had stayed.

Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 11:01 AM by progressivebydesign
Seriously. Why are so many people becoming part of this cult? Has there been a mass-hysterical religious climate before? This is not normal behavior.. What makes Miss Blue Fireball From Satan any different than people in the Middle Ages who were so fraught with superstition that they could not function, and ended up hurting many people? Or maybe I'm thinking Salem Witch Trials, etc. Same mentality.

I think God was probably giving her a sign.. it's wasn't Satan. It was God saying STOP PROFITING FROM MY NAME YOU FREAK!! Or perhaps it was the static electricity from the entire band of Forefathers turning in their grave at once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Makes about as much sense as a thunderstorm being "spiritual warfare" or an attack from Satan. Or maybe Thor hates telephone poles.

If this lady didn't use Christian terms to describe her interpretation of events in the outside world as being caused by her thoughts and actions, she'd be very clearly delusional. Unfortunately, it seems many people share her delusions. That isn't to say that all faith is delusion or that all Christians are delusional - far from it. It's the "I did something that caused unseen forces to hurl thunderbolts at my telephone poles" part that rings my alarm bell for this lady. With the unfortunate Christian fringe, it's the delusions of persecution that make me think they aren't religious, they're ill.

105. I know JUST the design: rotate a cross 45 degrees to the right...
Trim a little bit of the top and the bottom of the long section.

Then, measure the distance from the middle of the cross to the end, then make four additional straight sections of exactly that length.

Finally, attach each of the four new sections to each of the ends of the cross, at 90 degree angles.

You end up with a nifty, little swastika. It was good enough for the "old Europe" facists, so it's good enough for the neofacists.

And with that, I am now going to throw up because people like Marcia make me SICK.

stop using us to try and legitimize your freakish beliefs. There isn't the first thing Judaeo about these freaks. They are all in the Paul run amuck club.

As for the commandments, they only follow the ones the like. The Mitzvoh about never letting a person go hungry or for justice or for a small military or the multiple verses about adultery they ignore. The one's for they like (Gay marrige, etc.) they take completely out of context and twist it to their own.

In the Jewish tradition there are 613 commandments... The ONE regarding homesexuality is about 575th on the list of importantce, preceded by things such as no adultry, no lying, honest business relations, not eating lobster and paying your tithe.

that's fine for her, if she wants it. she can move out into the woods, claim her own country, people who believe the same can join her, but she doesn't speak for me and I know she doesn't speak for the entire murikan population.

these people are so ass-backwards it hurts to read about stuff like this.

126. Why does she hate America?
She MUST hate America, or she would never try to improve on the Stars and Stripes.

Which, might I add, I happen to love. I just want our side to TAKE IT BACK. She hates America.

138. If you look at HER website, she claims she isn't trying to displace ..
.. the "Christian flag" but just wants an "American Christian flag." Apparently, although "in Christ there is no East or West," nothing in Holy Writ says we can't distinguish twixt Merrikins and Furriners ...

133. It was founded by Christians and we have God's name on U.S. currency
Anglicans and Catholics most certainly killed and murdered untold millions of natives to get this land. Unfortunately some still live 500 years in the past. She thinks Satan sent her a message and it inspired her to come up with a flag of intolerance. Doesn't sound like a very Christian thing to do.

139. Oh my goodness, i just had a vision!
Oh, my word i just had a vision...there was this chicken that walked up to me and the chicken said, eat more cheese...and i was like, damn, its a sign from the Chicken God to eat more cheese...so, immediately after snapping out of my state of "vision" i went to the store and etc etc etc......

And to tell you the truth, this story actually makes more sense than this old lady story....:) These country is going through a very rough shift, especially within the confines of religion, and the boundaries that "need" to be in place. Religion is very very hard to deal with, because when you are dealing with it, you are dealing with peoples feelings, faiths and beliefs. Most religions keep pounding there stereotypes and teachings over and over and over again...I'm sure there are worse crack pots out there than this lady, wait, or yeah, Mr. Monkey in Chief is worse...:)

Well, i'm off....the Chicken God is calling me.....i must get some Ritz Crackers....:P

142. Sounds like a Christian Constitutionalist (AKA Constitution Party)
They are freakay (at least the ones I have met)! Seem normal and nice at first...until you get to know them lol. They don't believe in separation of church and state, which I find disturbing.
