I did include a warning that the site was not created to make Republicans happy. I guess they can't read. I notice that DU has a "Freedom to Leave" policy. I think I will swipe that and make a few modifications to fit our website. I hope DU doesn't have a problem. LOL

Sen. Kit Bond (R-MO) fired his veteran communications director Ernie Blazar last week for running a political blog called "N8354N" during work hours, from his Senate computer.

And what does "N8354N" mean?

Well, it's the tail number of the plane which Missouri's Democratic governor Mel Carnahan died in, while running for Senate in 2000.

Hilarious, huh?

A subheading on the site read, "The title of this blog is not random. It marks an inflection point in current Missouri politics. On that day, the worm began to turn."

Nice.

When Blazar's stupidity was exposed, the site was subsequently deleted.

Thank goodness for Google's cache function, eh?

I am from Fort Wayne too and I know exactly what kind of whiny, hypocritical flack Republican Chairman Steve Shine is.

I'm in Ohio, but only about an hour from Ft. Wayne. My mother watches the network stations from there and says she really hates the woman running. (Mom's an Eisenhower Republican who seems to be coming around, she sure doesn't defend the WH anymore)

What a sanctimonious POS. Of course, they only list the simplest, most jarring ones (for those still in thrall). Not the extremely thought-provoking ones that they don't want to start seeing around town, because they might make people think twice about associating themselves with a party supporting that megalomaniac.

There are even items on the pages linked that even Reps would agree with - there was a dig on the Kennedys, and "There will always be death and taxes, but death doesn't get worse every year." And lots of funny neutral stuff.

And what was particularly offensive/degrading to women? Nothing I saw, but some of the links were down by the time I got there.

Put on a disclaimer that the links are to outside sources and that you are not responsible for nor do you (necessarily) endorse their content. Screw the bastards.

Well, it really depends on what you want the site to accomplish.

If you are preaching the the converted, who gives a farge?
If you are preaching to convert, taking the 'high-road' might be a better course.

DU = genrally not taking the 'high-road', but that's okay 'cause it is supposed to be a forum for those who don't/aren't and 'preaching to the converted (though challanged sometimes by those who wish to).

Make the site what YOU want.

That's my 2 francs.
