Former Head of NRC (RNC) to Be (Insurance) Lobby Group CEO
HELENA, Mont. -- A former chairman of the Republican National Committee and a close adviser to President Bush will head a group that lobbies Congress on behalf of more than 435 insurance companies.

The American Insurance Association announced Monday that Marc Racicot, 56, will take over as its next chief executive in August.

In a statement, Racicot said he looks forward to "immersing myself in industry challenges that must be resolved in the immediate future, such as extension of the national terrorism insurance program, as well as longer-term priorities, such as addressing lawsuit abuse."

Racicot was Montana governor from 1993-2001. He served as chairman of the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign last year, and chaired the Republican National Committee in 2002-03.

1. Biggest reason MT elected a DEM for governor...
Racicot and the GOP dolt who followed him... left the state in such a friggin mess.

He is vile and a total whore.

3. We'll be able to judge his effectiveness by watching our insurance rates
My guess is that he'll be a smashing success.

4. What Really Got Me
was that he remained a lobbyist for Enron after he became NRC chairman. And no one seemed to think that was objectionable.
