Yahoo News - Bush pressed to answer `Downing Street Memo' questions
June 16, 2005

WASHINGTON - A hearing Thursday on a secret British intelligence memo that said President Bush was committed to waging war on Iraq months before he said so publicly ended with a request for Congress to open an inquiry into whether Bush should be impeached for misleading the nation.

"All we're asking is to know the truth," said John Bonifaz, co-founder of AfterDowningStreet, org. "Some of his supporters want to say it's a question of failed intelligence. If that's all it was, so be it."

But if not, said Bonifaz, "then the American people and the U.S. Congress deserve to know."

The hearing focused on the now-famous Downing Street memo, named after the Downing Street office of British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The memo was written on July 23, 2002, by a top Blair adviser.

Finally the M$M has put up a story about today's hearings. I guess they finally figured out the party line?

10. Downplaying Bonifaz's words is inconsequential. . .
compared to burying Rep. John Conyer's involvement in the seventh paragraph.

34. One of the best quotes concerning Bush/Blair...
...Richard Green admitted he felt highly emotional about Tony Blair's presence at the service. "I think he's a war criminal, it's as simple as that. The man, without any consideration to the Labour parliamentary party, elected to go to war with this scabby little friend in Texas , and killed 51 of our men unnecessarily," he said.

Check this out:

Six members of the D.C. chapter of Freerepublic.com held a small counter-protest in support of Bush's policies. They brought an Iraqi expatriate, Nofel al Jazairi, who stood solemnly and held a sign reading "Saddam Lied, Millions Died."

Organizer Kristin Taylor said the Downing Street memo is "much ado about nothing."

Six members! These are tough times for the Freeptards.

13. Savior of our Democracy Rep. Conyers Delivering the Petitions....
:loveya:

Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., center, ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, is helped by Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., front row 2nd left, and Rep. Shelia Jackson Lee, left, to hand-deliver petitions to the White House, outside the Northwest Appointment gate of the White House, Thursday, June 16, 2005 in Washington. The petitions are signed by 105 members of Congress and more than 540,000 Americans demanding that President Bush provide a detailed response to the evidence in the 'Downing Street Memo'. The so-called 'Downing Street memo' says the Bush administration believed that war was inevitable and was determined to use intelligence about weapons of mass destruction to justify the ouster of Saddam (AP Photo/Pablo Martinez Monsivais)

14. Good news.
Now, visualize the temperature slowly heating up for Bush, as he sits in the frying pan.

As long as Iraq remains a Dante's Inferno, the flames will start heating up for Bush.

This entire administration is under intense pressure to get things fixed over there. They will be forced to come up with answers, plans, explanations, even though they don't want to.

The problem is, they won't be able to. Because the more they crack down and "round up insurgents", the worse it gets.

Enjoy the heat, George.

20. Democrats call for inquiry into 'Downing Street Memo' (Canada On Board)
Edited on Thu Jun-16-05 08:53 PM by Brundle_Fly
http://www.cbc.ca/storyview/MSN/world/national/2005/06/16/memo050616.html

Senior Democrats are calling for a full investigation into a memo that appears to accuse U.S. President George W. Bush of misleading Americans into backing the war with Iraq.

Bush has always maintained that "the use of force has been and remains our last resort."

But the memo, called the Downing Street Memo, could be the first documentary proof that Bush deceived the American people.

more and more press, they were so dumb not to confront this, makes them look like they had something to hide!
