US pledges North Korean food aid
The United States has promised impoverished North Korea 50,000 metric tonnes of food aid but denied the gift was linked nuclear arms talks.

It will be the third year in a row the US has donated aid, to be distributed through the UN World Food Programme.

"It is a humanitarian act based on need," the US state department said.

However analysts said they believed the timing was clearly linked to attempts to draw the North back into six-sided talks on its nuclear programme.

4. let's say this is a good thing to do as long as there are no poison
in them.

Sending them food is 100% better than calling them "Axis of evil". That's really insulting and didn't help to cool down the relationship.

I think it's Bush's inmaturity led to today's uncomfortable situation. Let's do something good and hope for the best.
