Car Bomber Slams Into U.S. Convoy in Iraq (Fallujah)
Edited on Fri Jun-24-05 05:24 AM by maddezmom
BAGHDAD, Iraq - A suicide car bomber slammed into a U.S. Marine convoy west of Baghdad and there were casualties, the military said Friday. A top U.S. commander testified before Congress that the foreign fighter problem in Iraq has worsened.

The attack happened Thursday night in Fallujah, 40 miles west of Baghdad. The troops were assigned to the II Marine Expeditionary Force, the military said. No further information was made available.

Separately, American and Iraqi troops battled al-Qaida-linked insurgents holed up in a house in an upscale part of Baghdad Thursday, killing at least five militants apparently waiting to carry out suicide bomb attacks.

3. And its asserted again that foreign fighters are responsible. . .
Foreign fighters, mostly from Iraq's Arab neighbors, are thought to be responsible for many of the car bombings that have killed thousands of Iraqis over the past 18 months.

They push this belief so hard because, were they to admit to the very real probability that Iraqis are killing Iraqis, they'd be unable to hide the reality of the burgeoning civil war. . .

Folks, this is going to be worse than Viet Nam because a lot of Americans will buy into the lies of this administration and they are too evil to recant.

4. Reuters: Marines hit by suicide bomber in Iraq, casualties
FALLUJA, Iraq (Reuters) - A suicide car bomber blew up a vehicle next to a U.S. Marine convoy in Falluja late on Thursday, causing several casualties, the Marines said on Friday.

A Marines statement gave no further details, saying only that more information would be released when it was available.

It is unusual for the U.S. military to release a statement on an attack without also giving precise casualty details.

Falluja, 50 km (30 miles) west of Baghdad, was a stronghold of anti-American insurgents until late last year, when Marines overran it in a month-long offensive. Since then violence has largely tapered off.

14. Col. Pryor Keeps the IraqNam Bullshit on High...
from Maddezmom's second link. This is unfuckingbelievable.....

~snip~

BAGHDAD - Rebel attacks in the capital are expected to rise in coming weeks despite US-Iraqi efforts to stem them, as insurgents try to play up insecurity in the country, a US military official said Friday.

"I think there will be a lot of small attacks in the next couple of weeks with the Iraqi prime minister going to the United States," Lieutenant Colonel Michael Pryor of the US 3rd Infantry Division's Task Force Baghdad said.

"They're trying to influence the international population through the media that Iraq may not be as secure as everyone makes it out to be."

...and get this!

~snip~

But according to Pryor, insurgent attacks are becoming less coordinated and less successful. "We think the intent is just to cause a lot of noise to make it seem like there are a lot of activities," he said.

I sure hope he doesn't really believe that. :eyes:

http://www.middle-east-online.com/english/?id=13858

In the volatile city of Fallujah, west of Baghdad, US marines late Thursday suffered "a number of casualties" when a convoy was attacked by a suicide car bomber, Staff Sergeant Nick Minecci, a US military spokesman said.

Minecci said he did not know if any US troops had died in the attack.

and then there was link that I couldn't get to work - all it did was take me to Yahoo snews - a completely different story

but here was the icasualties blurb

06/24/05 AFP: Humvee attacked in Samarra
but north of Baghdad in Samarra, an AFP correspondent reported that an attack early Friday on a US convoy had left a Humvee all-terrain vehicle and Bradley personnel carrier in flames.

19. The enemy here is hatred
The US Army cannot fight this
They can sit there and wait till an enrage Iraq decide he has enough of lives in this unfair world and blow himself up taking as many people he hate as he can.
If you fight hatred with guns plane and tank can you defeat it or just make it stronger.
The US does not have the moral high ground here. The longer the Army stay the more hatred will grow. Don't matter what you label them terrorist
insurgents militants freedom fighter or what.
The is only 1 exit plan... cut your loses.
Mission is a failure

I know. We went through the same thing with the British ourselves...
...over 200 years ago. I have read about it. Wasn't easy and it took a while but persistence paid off. Just a few colonists were able to drive off the best financed and most powerful military in the world from our shores. Bet the average British citizen could not believe they lost control of their most profitable colony at the time.

Separately, American and Iraqi troops battled al-Qaida-linked insurgents holed up in a house in an upscale part of Baghdad Thursday, killing at least five militants apparently waiting to carry out suicide bomb attacks.

Here we go again. What, did they find e-mails from UBL to these guys?? Linked to who???

Is everybody over there in Iraq that is shooting at us "linked" to Al-Qaida?? If that's the case, then wouldn't it be nice to go get that guy...what's his name?.....Osama bin something? The CIA director seems to know where he is. If Al Qaida really is in Iraq, then maybe taking out "old what's his name" might be a good idea.

Are we really saying that Saddam did a better job fighting and limiting terrorism in Iraq than "chimpy's" doing? Please tell my we're not saying that!!!

Of course, this is what I expect from the MSM. "Hey, they're shooting at us, so they must be Al qaida".
