Motai Saib doesn't know it yet, but a team of Holland & Hart lawyers is on his case.
Saib doesn't know because he's being held incommunicado as a suspected terrorist in the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. He's Prisoner No. 288, and his name and his wish for an attorney, and almost nothing else about him, were passed out of the prison by another detainee who already had a lawyer and could write to him.
Lawyers with Holland & Hart, a Denver-based firm with offices throughout the Rocky Mountain west, are working without charge to get hearings in U.S. courts for Saib and four other Guantanamo detainees, all citizens of Algeria.

The work is part of a nationwide effort by hundreds of private attorneys who have volunteered to seek due process for the more than 500 detainees still at Guantanamo.
