Saddam retains his grip... (Fox News hires Propaganda Minister)
Edited on Thu Oct-09-03 12:15 PM by Skinner
Everywhere and nowhere, Saddam retains his grip on Baghdad's imagination

Folks, you can't make stuff like this up. Faux News, being what it is, for this guy is like a lateral move...

"...The second-in-command at the information ministry, who spent his days reading the reports the minders wrote about visiting foreign journalists, has been employed by Fox News."

2. Sounds like good counter intelligence...
from the Baath arm of the Iraqi resistance to me. The more wild goose chases they send “Coalition Of The Willing” security forces on, the less chance they have of ever finding the real Saddam.

3. FYI: I added parentheses to your post.
That is the standard format for stuff like this.

4. What will be his first breaking story?
Maybe an expose on how Saddam leaked Plame to Novak?

5. The Reality is----

that as obsessed with CONTROL as the neo-cons are, Iraq is not
New Jersey, and "mind control" is a joke. The Iraqi people are
passionate in their beliefs and can/will think for themselves.
The neocons have so blown up Saddam's image as the ultimate Badman
that it has become ludicrous! The fact is-- that Saddam Hussein was
perfectly happy ruling over his Kingdom, and had no grand ambitions
of World dominance--leaving that to the Bonesmen in the Bush
Administration. Saddam's neighbors tolerated him, and as can be
seen by the current chaotic situation in Iraq, it took an iron
fist to keep the factions in line. To be sure, Saddam was no Saint,
but then what World leader is? As much as Americans deslike GWB,
we would remember the best of him if forces took over our country
and try to portray him as the Devil.

Extreme views emanate from an extreme Administration, itself in
chaos. The World would be better off, if it got back to representing
the views of all Americans who love this country for what it has
always been--a Beacon of Hope for the World--not its pariah.

6. Efficient food distribution network is viewed as…
A “dangerous socialist anachronism”. WTF is this? Oh my fucking gawd…the hallmark of repug ideology…if ya can’t pay for it, fuck you. Talk about taking repression to another level….:eyes:

A more substantial assault on Saddam's legacy is under way in the Republican Palace, where the occupation authority is making preparations to dismantle the food distribution system which gave free rations of flour, rice, cooking oil and other staples to every Iraqi.
Described by the UN as the world's most efficient food network, the system still keeps Iraqis from going hungry. But the US civilian administrator of Iraq, Paul Bremer, views it as a dangerous socialist anachronism. The coalition provisional authority (CPA) is planning to abolish it in January, despite warnings from its own technical experts that this could lead to hunger and riots.
