Conservative Firebrand Klayman Seeks Senate Seat From Florida
Conservative Firebrand Klayman Seeks Senate Seat From Florida
By Jennifer C. Kerr Associated Press Writer
Published: Oct 9, 2003

WASHINGTON (AP) - What do Bill and Hillary Clinton, Dick Cheney, Osama bin Laden and Fidel Castro have in common? Each has been sued by Larry Klayman.

The prosecutor-turned-watchdog also has brought cases against Iraq, the State Department, the Teamsters - even his mother.

Now, after nearly a decade of legal activism, Klayman is turning his attention to politics. He has entered the race for the Republican nomination for the Florida Senate seat held by Bob Graham, who ended his Democratic presidential bid this week.

"I want to take the fight for honesty, the fight for ethics, inside the U.S. government," Klayman said. (snip)

(snip) While his days of filing suits against the Clintons are over, at least for now, he has not forgotten the former first couple. When he announced his candidacy, Klayman told supporters that if elected to serve with Hillary Clinton, now a New York senator, he will be her ``worst nightmare.''
(snip/...)

3. another celebrity pol--a rabid right-winger at that who's a bonified
screwball. Just what the Sunshine state needs.

From the article:

...He gave up a $250,000-a-year salary with the organization to run in Florida, where he has had a home since 1977.

No problem, the CANF's coffers will fill the void like they do for all the other pols in Florida.

4. What a great slogan ...
If you elect me as your Senator, I promise to be Hillary Clinton's worst nightmare (crowd goes wild).

He wants to get into government to, "I want to take the fight for honesty, the fight for ethics, inside the U.S. government", and then follows that up with how he will be Hillary's worst nightmare.

How can even a Republican buy into that.

Cheers
Drifter

5. Go Klayman!
May he receive the nomination. I hope so. It would be a good end result for the Democrats.

7. Klayman's burned too many bridges
He's also gone after the * administration, particularly Cheney's energy meeting documents.

8. Lawsuit Larry cannot win
He's too far to the right and his harassment of the Bush Administration with lawsuits makes it unlikely he would ever win the nomination. Jeb would see to it.
