U.S. military raises Fallujah death toll

Associated Press

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The U.S. military on Monday raised the death toll in last week's attack on a convoy in Fallujah to six troops, announcing that two more women were killed in the ambush.

The military previously said 13 troops were wounded, including 11 females, making Thursday's ambush the largest single attack on American women in Iraq. The attack was carried out by a suicide car bomber and gunmen in Fallujah, 40 miles west of Baghdad.

The latest victims of Thursday's attack were identified as a Marine and a sailor, both of them women, said Marine Maj. Sean D. Gibson, a spokesman.

The attack killed five Marines, including two women, and a female sailor, Gibson said.

The women were part of a team of Marines assigned to various checkpoints around Fallujah. The Marines use women at the checkpoints to search female Muslims "to be respectful of Iraqi cultural sensitivities," a previous military statement said.

1. The truth finally squeezes out.
Didn't the initial reports state five women? Although, guess it took them that long to piece together the remains.

:(

2. Icasualties only had 5 listed due to suicide bomb
That's one more for Bush's chosen illegal war.

5. That's because one was killed by small arms fire in the ensuing attack
There were six killed total, five by the bomb, and one Marine by small arms fire. All are accounted for on icasualties.

(Gotta read the connected statements)

4. I just finished reading an email from a kid over there
He was saying the previous reports were wrong. I'll have to let him know it's been updated.

He said all of the women were burned and the ones that died were trapped and burned to death.

What a horrible way to die.
