SAS On Alert for Osama Swoop
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/tm_objectid=15669538&method=full&siteid=94762&headline=sas-on-alert-for-osama-swoop--name_page.html

"SAS troops were last night poised to storm into Afghanistan and capture Osama bin Laden.

Special forces have "good intelligence" the al-Qaeda boss or a senior henchman is holed up in a Taliban enclave.

Two squadrons are on stand-by waiting for the go-ahead from reconnaissance troops on the ground in Afghanistan.

Specialist counter-terrorist soldiers in the rapid-deployment group are on high alert at the SAS's Hereford base."

hmmmm...you don't think * will announce the capture of OBL tonight do you??

Wonder if this is related to the CH-47 crash.

Maybe just a little more of the "wag the Osama" game. I personnaly think (and hope) this POS is already dead.

1. If they ever really catch him,
we won't know about it until after the fact. That's elementary strategy.

2. how predictable!
i knew they would have to create another 9/11 or nab a bad guy to bring W's numbers back up.

it must be hard to ignore common sense in order to be a tool.

9. OOGA-BOOGA!!!
My thoughts exactly.
These people are pathetic, transparent and
tiresome.
Approval numbers down?

"Hey Usama, would you mind
crawling down into this hole and letting us
stage a "capture?
Georgie-boy needs some favorable PR..."

5. They can just say UBL was on that copter that crashed today
Just got an MSNBC news flash that a helicopter went down in Afghanistan today (no word on casualties). I won't believe anything they say about him until I see his "head on a pike."

11. It's a good question. Even the FBI has failed to find a paper trail....
...between the hijackers and Al Qaeda/Osama Bin Laden.

Robert S. Mueller, III, Director, FBI
Commonwealth Club of California
San Francisco, CA
April 19, 2002

<http://www.fbi.gov/pressrel/speeches/speech041902.htm>

QUOTE:

The plans were hatched and financed overseas, beginning as long as five years ago. Each of the hijackers came from abroad: fifteen from Saudi Arabia, two from the United Arab Emirates, and one each from Lebanon and Egypt. All 19 entered our country legally, and only three had overstayed the legal limits of their visas on the day of the attacks.

While here, the hijackers did all they could to stay below our radar. They contacted no known terrorist sympathizers. They committed no egregious crimes. They dressed and acted like Americans, shopping and eating at places like Wal-Mart and Pizza Hut, blending into the woodwork all the while. When four got speeding tickets in the days leading up to September 11th, they remained calm and aroused no suspicion. Since none were known terrorists, law enforcement had no reason to question or detain them.

The hijackers also left no paper trail. In our investigation, we have not uncovered a single piece of paper – either here in the U.S. or in the treasure trove of information that has turned up in Afghanistan and elsewhere – that mentioned any aspect of the September 11th plot. The hijackers had no computers, no laptops, no storage media of any kind. They used hundreds of different pay phones and cell phones, often with prepaid calling cards that are extremely difficult to trace. And they made sure that all the money sent to them to fund their attacks was wired in small amounts to avoid detection.

they were all working together,
yeah, that's it!
Tell the American people they were ALL in it together-
forge the evidence, what ever it takes to justify
global domination.

but even if he implied it, he could have just been trying to take credit for a "successful" operation . . .

32. bin laden denies it: Interview published 28th September, 2001
http://www.robert-fisk.com/usama_interview_ummat.htm

Interview published in newspaper Ummat Karachi, 28th September, 2001

"I have already said that I am not involved in the 11 September attacks in the United States. As a Muslim, I try my best to avoid telling a lie. I had no knowledge of these attacks, nor do I consider the killing of innocent women, children and other humans as an appreciable act. Islam strictly forbids causing harm to innocent women, children and other people. Such a practice is forbidden even in the course of a battle."

33. Fat Osama? Yes, I remember him well

The MSM were going to play a translated video of the Osama on the left, then have him tried and convicted by a focus group. But they cancelled at the last minute to because they suddenly weren't sure the translation was right, it turned up on Al Jazeera, and even more suddenly, the tape was no longer considered authentic.

21. Technically, you have to confess in court for it to count
Although I realize most people would be willing to waive that requirement in his case. Still, I would like to see a real court case for two reasons:
- the rule of law should still matter.
- much interesting evidence would likely come to light, that could help prevent repetitions of the 911 catastrophe.

24. When did he admit to 911? Hopefully you're not referring to that video...
...of the individual claiming to be Osama, are you?

Take a look at the pictures of Osama on these sites and then tell me that the "Osama" who confessed is the real Osama:

<http://911blimp.net/vid_fakeOsamaVideo.shtml>

<http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/osamatape.html>

<http://www.global-conspiracies.com/fake_2001_osama_bin_laden_video_tape.htm>

The question I have for you is, how little evidence do you need to be convinced Osama confessed to 911?

8. This is good news!
First, I'm glad they may finally catch Osama. Second, from a political standpoint this is good for Dems. It means he can't pull the Osama card right before the mid-term elections. I've alwayst thought they would catch Osama a couple of weeks before Nov. 2006. If they have to do this now, then what will they have for an October surprise. Forget I asked that...:eyes:

17. They'd have to thaw him out first
I heard Dickless Cheney has had him on ice in an underground bunker for the past two years, waiting for the right moment to spring him on America. Of course, now that Cheney is dead too they need that freezer to put him in. Time for OBL to go.

31. Just in time for Bush's speech tonight!
Edited on Tue Jun-28-05 03:15 PM by rocknation
It will be debunked first thing in the morning, of course, but for now it's "true," so he can mention it tonight. Better yet, it's on record that it might be a "crony" as opposed to The Big O himself.

I'd be inclined to agree with you except for the "negotiating with insurgents" story. That had to be torpedoes since it didn't go over too well, so this story makes for a good backup plan.

It's possible that they're just desparate enough to "capture" tonight, but it might have the opposite effect--"We got him, the war on terror is over, let's go home." On the other hand, if Osama was brilliant enough to mastermind the WTC attacks, why would be he dumb enough to stick around in Afghanistan for four years?

It was a US copter that was downed by the Taliban.

No, tonight's speech won't be the "We got him!" speech.

Tonight is Dubya's "I am not a crook/9-11" speech.
